• Very crude tools• Stones used to throw at animals

• Man develops tools to hunt
• Bows and arrows
• Fish hooks
• Harpoons
New Stone Age akaNeolithic Age
this change involved the gradual domestication of
plants and animals and the formation of settled
communities at various times and places.
Characteristics of the Evolution of Civilization
Agriculture to Surplus Production
• People began to grow more food than they would need – allowed people to do things other than farming
Establishment of Towns/Cities
• With surplus populations could grow
• Families now could be larger
