sofia : Celo?

Celo: Yes?

sofia : its about chitong.. he does not want to continue his law course, the boy has a vocation. He

sofia: celp, when are you going to visit your father? Nena called me last night and she was crying! She

told me that she could do nothing with the old man! Your cousin Paulo? Hes not there anymore to help

really concern of what your going to make in your life..

chitong: oh no! I could not pray anymore. I felt empty and ridiculous mom.. I said last night that im sure

about this thing.. how shall I say it? You know mother, he did a hard time of it, it shows in his face. I

often feel sorry for him. He has made it possible that I shouldnot go through, whatever he had go

through.. but ist alright? Is it good for me?

sofia: what are you talking about chitong?

chitong: nothing..

sofia: ig youre dedicate yourself to God, then nothing else should matter to you..

chitong: I do wish ther were something else that matters. But thers nothing! And father knows it that

why he despises me. And he is right..

Celo: your mother tells me that you want to give up law

celo: nothing, my mother wants me to become priest, but when he died, I abandoned the idea .

(sa bahay nila nena)

nena: oh cello..

celo: how is he?

he keeps asking for the girl, may be it would much be better..

(nena and chitong conversation at the sala)

nena: yes the girl is still in the town.. but youre father will surely find out if she comes back here.. oh

chitong: then let him, but im going to bring the girl back, the old man needs her. tell me where she is..

nena: oh tita, where here.. chitong , youre father has come back! she must go!

chitong: no! she must see my grandfather!tita: i will stay! i will see youre father nena!

chitong: im not afraid!

(celo enters)

celo: what is she doing here?

celo: a fine priest you will make!

for it !

(celo slaps chitong in his face)

tita: carias? carias? carias! no ! youre still sleeping! carias! you have to wake up! carias.. Nena! carias
