Ken Morrison - CEO, Property Council of Australia

Ken Morrison is the Chief Executive of the Property Council of Australia, the national representative of the property industry. Ken is a Property Male Champion of Change, a director of the Green Building Council of Australia, and sits on the executive committees of the Business Coalition for Tax Reform and the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council. He is passionate about the future of our cities and has played a significant role in shaping tax, planning and infrastructure policy for over a decade.

Simon Tennent - Deputy Director, Strategy and Program Design with the ACT Government

Responsible for both the ACT Government’s land release strategy and the management of the Government’s Affordable Housing Action Plan. Prior to the ACT Government I was Chief Economist with the Housing Industry Association from 1994 to 2006. Significant experience in housing policy and analysis both from within the Federal and State Government Sector and with the private sector.

Susan Helyar - Director, ACT Council of Social Service Inc. (ACTCOSS)

Susan joined ACTCOSS in February 2013. Susan is committed to working with leaders across Canberra to build a more just and inclusive community, where everyone lives with dignity. Her career has been focused on making a difference - as a social worker, in policy roles in ACT and Commonwealth governments and as the leader of services development advocacy work for UnitingCare Australia.

MEET THE SPEAKERS

David Maxwell - Director, Riverview Group and ACT Vice President of the Property Council of Australia.

David Maxwell has been Director of the Riverview Group and the other Corkhill companies since 2003. In his current role, David has overseen the investment in and development of all of the company’s major projects. David has over 30 years’ experience in real estate and major property development since beginning his career with residential real estate company, Woodger Corporation. He is leading the joint venture between ACT Government’s Land Development Agency and Riverview Developments in the new West Belconnen suburb of Ginninderry, which will deliver a diverse range of affordable housing options for Canberrans.
