The wrestlers will take a short break over the Thanksgiving holiday and be back in action
against the Comets of Eastern High School on Wednesday, December 4th at 6:30 pm. Please
come out and support your wrestlers. Enjoy the holiday by spending time with loved ones,
watching football, shopping, and eating way too much turkey!
GO KATS!!

After getting their first victory last Friday, the Lady Kats will try to make it two-in-a-row with
a game against Anderson at Memorial Gym Saturday. The JV game will start at noon.
The Lady Tribe are 2-3 this season. They opened the season with three straight losses, and
have since won two in a row. Of their three setbacks, two have come to 6-0 Lawrence North
and 7-0 Fishers. Anderson’s first win was an overtime game, when they defeated Richmond
61-59 in North Central Conference action.
The Kats are 1-3 after defeating Manual last Friday.
This will be Kokomo’s first game in NCC play this season.
Anderson is 1-1 in road games this season, while Kokomo is 0-1 in games at Memorial Gym.
The Indians average 50.6 points per game, while allowing 60. Kokomo scores 43.5, but is
stingy on defense, allowing 43.0.
Saturday’s game will be the 37th in the series, which dates back to a 63-46Anderson win in the
1984-85 season.
Anderson has won the last five games in the series and nine of the last 10.
Kokomo’s last win in the series came on November 29, 2014, when Coach Heather Mygrant’s
Wildkats beat the Tribe 54-41.
Anderson is third in the NCC in scoring at 50.6 points per game. The Lady Tribe is last in the
league defensively, giving up 60.0 ppg.
In their first five games, when Anderson has scored 50 or more points, they have won.
Tyra Ford, a 5’7” junior, averages 22.3 points per game this season for Anderson. She also
leads the team in rebounding (7.8), assists (3.5), and steals (4.0). Ford missed the game with
Pike to start the season. Her career high in points is 34, which she had in the overtime win
over Richmond. Ford has also scored 30 or more points on four occasions in her high school
career.
Shannon Cleckley is in his fifth season as the head coach of the Lady Indians and will bring a
44-57 record into Saturday’s game. He has never had a winning record at Anderson.
Cleckley, who took over the Anderson program from former coach Chad Cook in the 2015-16
season, is 5-0 against the Lady Kats and 3-0 against Kokomo at Memorial Gym.
