ID POLICY

Students will not be allowed in class without ID’s.

Students get 1 free ID at the beginning of each year.

Students w/out ID’s should be sent to room 1252 to procure a temp or replacement ID.

Students can receive 2 free temps every semester. After the second has been issued, all other temps will cost $1.

Students may purchase a replacement ID for $5.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE PILOT

Pilot program, can be reversed if abused.

Are allowed in non-instructional areas (i.e.: Café and Halls during passing periods).

"The non-visible and safe/secure storage of all electronics during electronic non-usage time is the sole responsibility of the student."

During class time, ED usage is up to teacher discretion.

Read The Teacher’s Sign:

Green indicates ED usage allowed.

Red Indicates ED usage prohibited.

Students who violate the ED policy should be written up on a referral and escorted to their dean for disciplinary action.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Parents must call the Attendance Center by 1:00 p.m. on the day of the student’s absence for it to be considered an excused absence. To report an absence, you may call 225-2901, 225-4902, 225-4903, or 225-4904. The Illinois School Code provides the following reasons as “valid cause” for absences – illness, death in immediate family, and family emergency.

If absent from class, students must obtain a reinstatement from an attendance officer in room 1230 in order to be admitted to class.

HERO SYSTEM

Student Tardiness is tracked by our PLASCO system.

Student must get a pass from a Plasco unit (at the intersections of the 1200/2200 or 1600/2600 halls.)

Pass with consequence and infraction number is issued.

Student returns to class, and shows pass to teacher who reviews and returns the pass.

DRESS CODE Dress must reflect modesty and be

appropriate for school and school sponsored activities. Decent coverage of the body is expected and is determined at deans discretion.

The wearing of coats, hats, head scarves, sweat bands, visors, hair rollers, sunglasses and plastic caps is not permitted in the school building.

Female Students Shorts and skirts must extend to fingertip

length.

Leggings/tights must be worn with a shirt that extends to the waist and pants can not be see through or sheer.

No sleepwear.

No sleeveless under garments.

No exposed mid-riffs.

No inappropriate slogans/images.

Males Students No sagging pants/shorts.

Pants/shorts should be worn at waist level.

HALLWAY EXPECTATIONS

No running,

No littering,

No loitering,

No blocking traffic,

No profanity,

No eating.

Also, public displays of affection (PDA) or improper behavior such as: kissing and hugging, is in poor taste and is not permitted in the school.

CAFETERIA USAGE AND CONDUCT

Students are expected to clean up the area

in which they eat and all trash is to be

disposed of in garbage cans.

No food may be taken out of the café area.

Students who do not follow the rules of the

cafeteria will be referred to their dean.

Any student caught throwing food will face

disciplinary action.

MONEY AND VALUABLES

Students are urged to leave valuables and

large amounts of money at home.

They should carry only enough money to

take care of their needs each day.

High School District 205 accepts no

responsibility for lost or stolen property.

There is nowhere to make change for large

bills within the school.

Students should always carry a dollar in case

they need to get a temporary ID.

STUDENT LOCKERS

Each student is provided with a locker for

storage of personal belongings.

A built-in lock is provided, and the

combination is available only to the

student in whose name the locker is

assigned.

Students should not share lockers.

Defacing of lockers by students will result in

disciplinary action and/or fine.

Additionally, students should secure their

belongings and ALWAYS lock their school

and PE lockers!
