Roles and Responsibilities of the Executive Committee/Officers:

Generally speaking it is a 7-year commitment.2 years of being a rep, and then 5-years as an Officer.

The Executive Committee is comprised of Executive Director, the 5 officers, and two appointed Directors.

We conduct business on behalf of the organization between quarterly meetings via e-mails, phone conferences, and face to face meetings.

A typical quarter for the Executive Committee:

We meet on the Friday before the meeting for 8 hours to discuss the agenda on Saturday, as well as topics we need to prepare for.

Saturday Meeting, approximately 6-8 hours. Shortly after the meetings, we review the minutes for both

the Executive Committee, and the Board meetings. Review roles and responsibilities for any action items. As requested, we review anywhere from 2-6 items in a

quarter, that take anywhere from 2-12 hours on average. Attend meetings as requested by the president, and represent

CLSA in that role. Dozens of emails, and a few conference calls as needed. Periodic meetings to review documents such as Strategic

Plan, committee charges etc.

local Chapter. Participate in a committee at the State level. Pass on information you receive to the Board, that affect our

profession, for CLSA to consider. Once the Board takes a position, it is to be accepted and

unified throughout CLSA.
