STJ Shadow Days...be a Flyer for the Day! Monday, November 11th

The St. Joseph High School Shadow Day Program offers prospective students an opportunity to spend the day on the STJ campus, attending classes and following the schedule of a STJ Student. In addition to meeting teachers, students and administrators, shadowing students will participate in classroom discussions and learn more about Flyer clubs, sports organizations, and areas of interest to them.

The STJ Shadow Days are scheduled on VISD student holidays so you won’t have to miss a day at your school to participate. The Shadow Program is open to students who are considering enrollment and in good standing in their current school. Shadow Students must adhere to STJ policies and dress code while on campus.

This seminar for married couples and parents is an exciting opportunity for those who want to deepen their marriage and strengthen their parenting skills. Michael and Alicia Hernon, the parents of 10 children, travel throughout the

world offering insights and practical guidance on parenting, mar-riage and how to grow a family culture. This free event will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm at The Cathedral Center, 3102 N. Laurent, in Victoria, Tex-as. Lunch will be available for purchase. Knights of Columbus Council #1329 Chicken BBQ will be held November 17th from 8:30 am until sold out. Prices are $8 per chicken or 3 for $22. Spanish rice and beans are avail-

There will be a joint meeting for Lectors and Eucharistic Minis-ters on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the Church. Attendance is very important.

Currently, 285 Catholic military chaplains provide pastoral care to over 1.5 million Catholics on ships, in combat, on bases and in 153 VA hospitals. The Collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services will fund their Co-Sponsored Seminarian Pro-gram, which identifies vocations within the military and is now educating 30 men for the priesthood and subsequent military chaplaincy.

THANKSGIVING TAIZE’ PRAYER On November 19, 2019, 7:00-8:00 pm, Taize’ Prayer will be prayed in the Amor Meus Prayer Room. Taize’ Prayer is a beautiful contemplative, candlelit Christian prayer consisting of repetitive psalm phrases to give it a meditative character. Psalms, song, silence, scripture readings, and intercessions form this pray-er with a Thanksgiving theme. Come enter into a thanksgiving spirit with us!

Fall Bake Sale: November 23rd & November 24th Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society is having a bake sale on November 23rd and 24th in the base-ment after all masses.
