The Heidelberg Catechism Question 29

Why is the Son of God called "Jesus," meaning Savior?

Answer. Because he saves us from our sins. Salvation cannot befound in anyone else; it is futile to look for any salvationelsewhere.

On Good Friday, April 14th, at 6:00 pm we will be havinga Seder Meal. This is not like one of our regular potluck meals, you do not need to bring anything, We will provide all of the foodfor this event, enough for you and your whole family. This is thetraditional Jewish celebration of Passover, but it will not be exactlylike a traditional Jewish Seder. The hope in doing this is goodfood, good fellowship, and the opportunity to be transported back2000 years to experience something like the Disciples would haveexperienced on the night that Jesus instituted the sacrament of theLord’s Supper. We will be celebrating communion at this service. Please sign up on your welcome card if you plan to attend so wecan make sure we have enough food for everyone.

Because this is not our ordinary Good Friday service, if you cannotmake it but still want to financially support Operation ChristmasChild (the offering on Good Friday goes toward that ministry) youare more than welcome to make that donation ahead of time or onEaster Sunday. Please indicate on your envelope if it is a generaloffering or for OCC.
