This week our handwriting focus are the final letters from Letter Family 3. These letters go Anti-clockwise round. Say the phrase as you write the letter. Can you practise writing these letters in lots of fun ways? Think about what your child's interests are and try to link writing in the air to that theme. For example, at school we often pretend to do ‘Jedi’ writing. This gives the child a fun motivation to write. By writing the letters in the air with large movements they gain good control of their shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands and fingers—all perfect ways to strengthen their hands for writing! It also helps to embed those writing phrases which are crucial to letter formation at this stage. The children enjoy Jedi writing a lot more with the music! Click here to listen to it and remember to say the phrases at the same time, enjoy! Top tip: You could make your own light sabre at home with a long tube, tape and decorations or make a writing wand by stapling ribbon to a straw or tape tissue paper to a craft stick.

This week our handwriting focus are the final letters from Letter Family 3. These letters go Anti-clockwise round. Say the phrase as you write the letter.

Can you practise writing these letters in lots of fun

ways?

Think about what your child's interests

are and try to link writing in the air to that theme. For example, at school we often pretend to do ‘Jedi’

writing. This gives the child a fun motivation to write. By writing the letters in the air with large movements they

gain good control of their shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands and fingers—all perfect ways to strengthen their hands for

writing! It also helps to embed those writing phrases which are crucial to letter formation at this stage.

The children enjoy Jedi writing a lot more with the music! Click here to

listen to it and remember to say the phrases at the same

time, enjoy!

Top tip: You could make your own light sabre at home with a long tube, tape and decorations or make a writing wand by stapling ribbon to a straw or tape tissue

paper to a craft stick.
