Today at Saint Mark
Today is Homecoming! (and “Flip-flop Sunday”)! We are delighted to
welcome Rev. Phillip Thomason back as our guest preacher for the day.
We’ll also enjoy our annual potluck/covered dish dinner after today’s
11:15 Morning Worship service.
Faith Seekers class series concludes today This month the class has discussed
the Seven Churches of Asia Minor, found in the book of Revelation. The Faith
seekers class meets Sundays at 10:10am in room 205; all are welcome!
Promotion Sunday Postponed
Promotion Sunday for Children’s Sunday School has been postponed until
September 11. If you are a current teacher, or would like to teach
Elementary Sunday School, or if you are a parent of an elementary school
aged child, contact Rev. Beth LaRocca-Pitts with any questions.
New Sunday School class for Young Adults
We are starting a new class for young adults in their 20’s and 30’s this fall.
Join us for coffee and refreshments in room 209 at 10:10am on Sunday,
September 11 to meet other interested members. To learn more,
email Rev. Kim Sorrells ([email protected]) or Kristen Silton at
Chancel (and Children’s) Choir Update
Have you noticed that the Chancel Choir is once again singing during both
Morning Worship services? Weekly Chancel Choir practice has resumed
every Wednesday at 7:30pm. To learn more, contact Jonathan Easter at
[email protected]. Children’s choir practice will also resume soon.
Parents, if your child is interested in participating, contact Jonathan as well.
Our final Happy Table fellowship dinner for the summer will take place this
Thursday, September 1 at the home of Larry Lucas (4053 Brenteresa Court in
Snellville). Contact Larry at 770-736-0065 for more information.
Habitat for Humanity Build Continues
Saint Mark continues a weekly Habitat for Humanity build from 7:30am to
3:30pm every Saturday from now through October 1. No experience is
necessary; there are opportunities for everyone! To learn more, contact Jay
Smith at [email protected] or call 678-357-6713 (or look for the sign up
sheets in the narthex on Sunday mornings).
Towel Drive for Gateway Center
Did you know that Gateway Center offers warm showers for men and
women who are currently without a home of their own? We’re collecting
towels and washcloths to donate to Gateway Center for their residents and
visitors through September 18. Drop your donations in the bins in the narthex
on Sunday mornings or drop them off in the church office during the
week. Join us in the effort to provide “power through showers”! Contact
Rev. Jennifer Hansen at [email protected] for more details.
Visit Einstein Bros Bagels (800 Peachtree Street) with your church bulletin

ANTHEM The Lord’s My Shepherd - Howard Goodall
PASTORAL AND THE LORD’S PRAYER Jennifer Hansen Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the
kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
OFFERING OURSELVES TO GOD
The Invitation Jennifer Hansen
Offertory The Road Home – Stephen Paulus
Tell me where is the road I can call my own,
that I left, that I lost, so long ago?
All these years I have wandered, oh when will I know there’s a way,
there’s a road that will lead me home?
After wind, after rain, when the dark is done,
as I wake from a dream in the gold of day,
Through the air there’s a calling from far away,
there’s a voice I can hear that will lead me home.
Rise up, follow me, come away is the call,
with love in your heart as the only song;
There is no such beauty as where you belong,
rise up, follow me, I will lead you home.
