The rain has been a welcome change from the 100+ de-gree days. It reminds me that change is refreshing if done the right way…
What a great segue into talking about what is going on around here. The upstairs is progressing at a rapid pace. There is tile and carpeting down already, and Bai-ley Elliott tells me the flooring will be substantially complete today, with the Youth Room finishing up next week. The bathroom cabinets and fixtures are going in today and they should be complete in the next couple of days. Final paint is scheduled, the new stairway leading to the Garage (the youth room) is being readied, and the HVAC system is operational. We are very close!
The elevator is still slowing us down, but it is actually going to work in our favor. When we look at the timing of getting the final inspections upstairs, getting the sanctuary moved, Fellowship Fest and our Fall Revival, it makes sense to move the opening date. Therefore, the official date for going to three services and three Bible Study hours is moving to Octo-ber 18. In the meantime, we are going to make some incremental adjustments to better help us prepare for October 18.
In preparing for three services, we recognize that we need to keep the services to a predict-able length since the services will start one right after the another. (Of course, I could make the sermons shorter, but we all know how that would go…) We are moving some things around to help. For example, we will start doing the announcements in a Power Point show starting 15 minutes before service time. We will then air a video call “3 Before” at three minutes before the service begins. We will record the video on Thursday each week with the highpoints of current events and upcoming opportunities. The services will begin with the welcome and move right into “Bucky Time”. As the children go to Kidzrock, we will have a meet and greet. We will then enter into a time of worship in song, then move to the message. As we have looked at this, just these small adjustments get me to the pulpit 15-20 minutes earlier.
We are also working on a better parking flow that we hope to have in place in the coming weeks. We are adding a large parking that will help, and we hope to improve access on to the campus through the Loop 332 House. You can park there now, but we will be making it easier to get in and out.
We are also putting in a Guest Center, and we will talk more about that next week…
Last week we finished our series On the Road to Recovery and start a new series this week to get us ready for our Fall Revival called Are You Ready? This week’s message will focus on dreaming bigger dreams to get ready for God’s blessings. In the following weeks we will look at preparing in faith, and preparing through prayer and fasting.
Prepare for it! Get ready for Sunday and walk on to this campus with confidence that God has a plan for you!
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Michael
P.S.—Come to church with a ready heart and high expectations! Pray that God will reveal something just for you.

Bible Story: God sends quail and Manna
Scripture reference: Exodus 16:1-26
Key verse: Psalms 23:5-6
“You prepare a table before me in the presence
of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my
cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will fol-
low me all the days of my life, and I will dwell
in the house of the Lord forever.”
This Week at Fellowship Sep 10– Sep 16
“Engage: Go and pray . . .” (2 Kings 22:13) is the theme for
“See You at the Pole” this year, on Wednesday, September 23
at schools throughout the United States and in many other
countries. This year we will gather at our Liberty Hill School
flagpoles on that date at 7:00am for a time of prayer for our
schools, our community, state, nation, and world. Please make
plans for your student to come a be a part of SYATP.
Even as I type this I hear the sounds of construction going on
upstairs in the new youth area (and the rest of upstairs) and we
are excited about the new season of ministry that will soon
begin. From the old youth room, to the sanctuary, to the tent,
then back to the sanctuary we have been blessed to see God
move no matter where we have met. We look toward this new
space with great expectation of how students will come to
Christ there and how the God will change lives. Please pray for
our students...they (and we) need it!
