2 Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce
SHAPING THE FUTURE OF OUR REGION
Two years ago, a group of diverse business leaders were recruited to form our Regional Affairs Committee. The new committee was chartered with providing leadership and a heightened understanding of opportunities and challenges facing the region. The Committee set out to identify a process to create a shared vision for
the region. For the past two years, they have been steadily working to build strong community support for a regional vision project where the scale and diversity of our entire region can be leveraged.
The hard work paid off, and we officially launched MyTri2030, a community-driven project for the Tri-Cities. We are working with NewEdge, a local strategy company, to gather grassroots feedback, seek insight from community and business leaders, identify trends, then focus on key themes and opportunities where we can amplify our collective impact.
Please visit www.mytri2030.com and complete the community questionnaire, and tell all your friends about it! The questionnaire will be online until May 15th.

WHAT IS MYTRI2030?
MyTri2030 is an inclusive, community-driven, regional vision project.
The two-fold goal of MyTri2030 is to: • Engage the people of the Tri-Cities to create a vision for the future of our region. • Amplify our collective impact.
MyTri2030 celebrates the Tri-Cities as the sum of multiple, distinct and independent parts with a collaborative and ambitious goal to transform the region.
MYTRI2030 PROCESS
The process starts with a review of current and past studies, plans and reports. New research, stakeholder input and data analysis are then layered in to create an objective interpretation of the region’s key opportunities and challenges. MyTri2030 stakeholders will meld together conclusions from past and present data, input from the community questionnaire and one-on-one interviews to identify opportunities and unmet community needs. The idea is not to “reinvent the wheel,” but rather to build upon the strong foundations alreadyunderway, wherever possible. MyTri2030 will emerge as our shared vision for the entire region. Watch MyTri2030.com for the MyTri2030 regional vision project results (Summer 2018).
GET INVOLVED – ANSWER THE COMMUNITY QUESTIONNAIRE
It’s all about you; the community! Grassroots involvement and ideas constitute the core of the project. Help us learn what you think the future could and should be like in the Tri-City Region. One person per week will win a $50 gift card from Amazon.com for taking the questionnaire. The greater the community response, the greater the potential for success.

CATALYST
The Tri-City Regional Chamber has served as a Washington Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) subcenter since 2009, assisting local businesses with selling to federal, state and local government. We have a PTAC Counselor on staff, Ashley Coronado, who helps businesses navigate through the confusion
of government contracting to ultimately win contracts! Serving as a catalyst for our small business community, we’d like to highlight a couple of recent client success stories. McClurkin Ceramics, a dental laboratory located in Yakima, WA has worked with Ashley since July 2017. In addition to helping them develop effective government marketing materials, Ashley assisted them in attaining 8(a) certification through the U.S. Small Business Administration. “All of our company’s progress and future success in the federal procurement arena should be accredited to
TRI-CITIES PTAC CLIENTS SEE SUCCESSPTAC Contracting Specialist, Ashley Coronado,” says Mark McClurkin, Contracts/Procurement Manager, McClurkin Ceramics. “It’s a huge advantage to know that my local PTAC office will do their very best to help our company reach our goals.” In similar fashion, Green Monarch Consulting, a janitorial firm in Trout Lake, WA, worked with Ashley in November 2017 to pursue a U.S. Forest Service janitorial contract. They were successfully awarded the contract in December. “Ashley with PTAC was a great help to me in securing a janitorial contract for my local Forest Service,” said Joanna Toleno Bakken, Owner, Green Monarch Consulting. “Her assistance was invaluable.” If your company is looking for assistance in pursuing federal, state or local government contracts or subcontracts, Ashley is a resource to help you through that process. Our goal is that PTAC assistance can serve as a catalyst for your business as well!
