LG TWINS VS AUSTRALIAN ALL STARS GAME

The Exhibition Game played on Saturday 16th February was a great local turnout as well as the Korean community present.

Unfortunately, the Australian All Stars lost to the LG Twins 3-2.

Special mention to Caleb Shepherd who caught all 9 innings after the unfortunate injury to the Australian State Team Catcher Robbie Perkins.

The Exhibition game also saw the return of local NSW Sydney Blue Sox Catcher, Tim Atherton.

GRANTS

There are numerous Grants available currently:

MY COMMUNITY PROJECT

My Community Project will enable individuals to put forward ideas for projects in their area, and a

public vote will show which projects have the most community support to receive funding.

Successful projects will receive funding between $20,000 and $200,000.

People can nominate projects together with the support of a local organisation as the project

sponsor. Sports associations and clubs can sponsor projects – maybe you or someone else in your

group has a project idea that the association/club is willing to sponsor. The group may also be

approached by people within your community to support their ideas. Some examples of projects

that could be funded include playgrounds, community transport services, public gardens, upgrades

to local sporting or community facilities, public art, cultural festivals, programs for youth and health

initiatives.

Project applications open on 2 April 2019 for six weeks, closing on 15 May.

The public vote will be open for four weeks from 15 July to 15 August. The projects with the most

support in the community vote will be funded.

The program guidelines and fact sheets together with more information about the program is

available at nsw.gov.au/mycommunityproject.

If you require more information, please call 13 77 88.

OFFICE OF SPORT LOCAL DEFIBRILLATOR GRANT PROGRAM

About the program

The Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program allocates $4 million over four years to assist sporting

clubs across NSW in the purchase and maintenance of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). An

AED is a life saving device which delivers a controlled shock to an individual experiencing cardiac

arrest, increasing their chances of survival. The Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program provides

NSW sports clubs and councils the opportunity to acquire an AED package for their club or sports

facility at a reduced cost. Sporting organisations and councils will be able to choose from a panel of

approved AED Panel Service Providers and a variety of AED packaged services with the level of

customer service that meets their needs.

Who can apply?

· Incorporated, not-for-profit sports clubs in NSW

· State or national sporting organisations on behalf of member clubs located in NSW, to a

maximum of 10 per Zone

· Licensed sporting clubs, providing that the project directly benefits sporting activities

· Sport clubs associated with a school, church or university providing they are an

incorporated not for profit club in their own right

· Councils on behalf of sports clubs

· Councils in Zones 2 and 3, for sport and recreational facilities within their local government

areas

· Service clubs such as Rotary, CWA and Lions, on behalf of sporting clubs

Assessment process

Applications are open now and close on 6 May 2019.
