Since 2001, she is an Italian senator for life. Today she is the oldest living Nobel laureate and the first ever to reach a 100th birthday.

He made numerous recordings of complete operas and individual arias, and established himself as one of the finest tenors of the 20th century.

Borsellino were Italian prosecuting magistrates. From their offices in the Palace of Justice in Palermo, they spent most of their professional life trying to break the Mafia’s stranglehold on Sicily. After a long and distinguished careers, culminating in the famous Maxi Trial, they were tragically both assassinated with the use of car bombs within months of each other. They were also named as heroes of the last 60 years.

• Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian military and political figure. In his twenties, he joined the Carbonari Italian patriot revolutionaries, and fled Italy after a failed insurrection. In Italy he led the conflicts of the Risorgimento for Italian unity with the “Thousand”. He has been dubbed the "Hero of the Two Worlds" in tribute to his military expeditions in both South America and Europe. He is considered an Italian national hero.
