MICROBATES is a buffered and well-balanced alkaline bating enzyme for all types ofHides and Skins. In order to produce good quality leather processconditions like pH, float, temperature is to be maintained by the tanner inBating process.

Higher temperatures above 400C may damage the enzymes. Hence duecare has to be taken to maintain the bath temperature between 300C to380C. The pH of the Bating Bath should be between 8.0 and 9.0 for goodresults and duration of Bating depend on final quality of leathers required. The following chart give guidelines for Bating of various types of Leathersby using Microbates:

APPLICATION

The following conditions help to produce good quality leathers and desired effect. Floathas a bearing on bating as higher float reduces the concentration of Bate in liquor. Batingcan be carried out at a temperature between 30-400C with the optimum temperature being370C.

The pH of the bating bath should preferably be between 8.5 and 9.0 for best results. It istherefore possible to carry out bating operations after deliming in the same bath.

The following chart gives the quantity of MICROBATE L required for bating various typesof hides and skins.

temperature. Keep away from sunlight and moisture.

TEXZYME UT is a special blend of enzymes carefully designed to minimize folds andwrinkles and to improve softness & grain smoothness of leathers.TEXZYME UT has no negative action on grain structure of leathers.

TEXZYME UT has a strong softening action on folds and wrinkles appearing on pickled, chrome tanned skins and hides.

APPLICATIONSA dosage of 1% - 3% is recommended to remove folds and wrinkles. TEXZYME UT helps toachieve uniform bright color in wet blues and marginal area improvement is also noticed.

TEXZYME UT is very useful in the manufacture of upholstery leathers. A dosage of 1% -3%is required and duration can vary from 60’ - 120’. TEXZYME UT improves air and waterpermeability in upholstery leathers.

ON PICKLED STOCK: Depickle the leathers to pH 6 - 6.5. Degreasing is to be done ifnecessary. 1% - 3% TEXZYME UT to be added to drum and run for 1 hr. Folds and wrinklesremoval to be checked and bath has to be drained. The leathers are thoroughly washed andrepickled. Chrome Tanning is done in the usual manner.

CHROME TANNED STOCK: Wet blue is treated with mild alkalis like formate to increase thepH to 4.5. 1% - 3% TEXZYME UT is added to drum and run for 60-90 minutes. The skins arechecked for folds removal and the leathers are thoroughly washed. Subsequent operationslike Rechroming, Neutralisation, Retanning are carried on in usual manner.

DRY & HARD CRUST: TEXZYME UT plays an important role in softening of fibres of Dry &Hard Crust. Useful leathers can be turned out of old stocks. A dosage of 1% - 3%TEXZYME UT is recommended along with wetting agent and ammonia in wet back process.
