actions of their children are indirectly telling us that they have not done a vital part of

enough, is to make sure that their children know right from wrong before they venture

have a direct impact on the children, how on earth can we not blame parents.

!his is critical, as for the cycle of negative and positive reinforcement to be effective in

behaviour modification, there must be a temporal link between misbehaviour and any

potential punishment. 2n a desire to avoid future fines, or whatever the penalty the

parents face, there is an active incentive to not only intervene in the child5s

misbehaviour, but also to do so in a timely way, which is the most proven way to change

children5s behaviour. 2n the nited 7ingdom there have been cases of parents being

jailed for failing to stop their children being truant from school. 8or instance, A single-

mother has been jailed for 60 days for not ensuring two of her daughters

regularly attended school.

problems of their children, this serves as an impetus for keeping up with
