DRAFT AGENDA 21 March 2018

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS FORUM ON FOOD & AGRICULTURE 27 - 28 MARCH 2018, JAKARTA, INDONESIA SCALING COLLABORATION TO DELIVER THE SDGS

The introduction of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 provided a global masterplan for ensuring an equitable, sustainable future for all. Among the Goals, ending hunger, achieving food security and promoting sustainable agriculture is a priority and will require an integrated and collaborative approach to the SDGs.

Home to 4 billion people, the Asia region faces some of the biggest and toughest challenges in a rapidly changing world. Climate change, population growth, land use competition, changing consumption patterns and land degradation are just some of these converging challenges. To address this, private and public stakeholders must work together to support diverse, sustainable and nutritious food systems, critical to achieving the SDGs.

The 5th Responsible Business Forum on Food & Agriculture will convene over 500 food, agriculture and nutrition decision makers from companies, government, investors and NGOs, as well as the farmers themselves, to discuss solutions to these challenges and agree on actions and commitments to achieving the SDGs. The Forum will devise scaleable solutions to achieving ‘Zero-Hunger’, recognising that this underpins most, if not all, of the SDGs.

Delegates will share partnerships, projects and initiatives designed to transform the food and agriculture value chain, and partake in focussed working groups, which will cultivate recommendations to accelerate and scale these initiatives through collaboration and partnership.

This draft agenda indicates both confirmed speakers and those not yet confirmed, and is subject to change.
