Me desperté sobresaltado y dije: “Gracias, Señor. Te prometo compartir hoy todas mis bendiciones”. Copyright © 2009, World Library Publications. All rights reserved.

WAKE-UP CALL I dreamt I was in heaven and an angel was my guide. We visited two huge rooms: in Receiving, crowds of angels were sorting prayers and petitions, while in Shipping, they were packaging and sending graces and blessings. Then we stopped in a small room, where one angel sat idling. “This is Acknowledgments,” my guide said. “Why is nothing going on here?” I asked. My guide sighed. “After people receive their blessings, very few acknowledge them. Yet if you have food, clothing, and a roof overhead, you are richer than 75 percent of the world. If you have money in the bank you are among 8 percent of the world’s wealthy. If you have never experi-enced war, imprisonment, torture or starvation you are unlike seven hundred million people in the world. If you can express your beliefs without persecution you are freer than three billion people in the world.” I woke up with a start and said, “Thank you, Lord. I promise to share all my blessings today.” Copyright © 2009, World Library Publications. All rights reserved.

Reflections ~ Reflexiones: Gospel: luke 19: 1-10

The incident in today's gospel may well be a God's eye view of each one of us! We are all "little," like Zaccheus, trying to see Jesus from a distance, and often get-ting ourselves up into trees or into other difficult situations and needing Jesus to come by and call us back down to earth, back down to an honest relationship with him. "When you come down from there, and admit your need," says Jesus, "we'll

talk, heart to heart. 1.) How are you like the "old Zaccheus," before he met Jesus? How are you like the "new Zaccheus," after he was found and saved by Jesus? 2.)After you have read this story, what do you think about Jesus? Would you like Jesus to "come to your house?" (Hint: If you ask him to, he will!)

corazón a corazón." 1.)

What a won-derful thought, and what a wonderful image to keep in front of us as we travel down life’s road. For if the path is re-vealed in the treading, it’s good to know that God is with us—and all around us—every step of the way. But Paul knows that this divine pres-ence is not timid. Instead, God calls out to us, and Paul prays that we, along with the Thessalonians, might be made wor-thy of that call. And who knows more about God’s call than Zacchaeus, the tax collector? Jesus called him out of a tree, for goodness’ sake. Or perhaps more correctly, as we reflect upon the end of today’s Gospel reading, for heaven’s sake. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

More info and registration at www.ccli.org An Online Self-paced Course and Live Online course options also available at the same website. Year of Mercy: To honor the end of the Year of Mercy, which will occur on November 20th, we will be having a “Mercy Night” from 7-10 pm on November 11th in the Church. Mercy Night is a beautiful, can-dlelit evening of quiet prayer. It fea-tures adoration with contemplative worship music. During these three hours, there will also be the opportu-nity to go to the sacrament of recon-ciliation. Please feel free to stay just five minutes or for a few hours. There is no better way to end the Year of Mercy than spending time with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and hav-ing the opportunity to receive his mercy in the sacrament of reconcilia-tion.

—Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, Copyright © J. Bible Blessing Is your Bible just another book on the bookshelf? At our parish’s Bible Study program, we learned that the Bible was written by a num-ber of authors who were inspired by God to put their beliefs into print. We also learned that to recognize a Catholic Bible is to look for the word “Imprimatur” on the front pages of our Bible. The Bible is actually a “library” of books which is divided into the Old Testament that tells the story of the Hebrews, God’s chosen people, and the New Testament that tells about Jesus’ life and ministry. Please come to the next Bible Study scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 8th, at 7:00pm in the school Cafeteria. The featured presentation, the Gospel According to Matthew, will be by Fr Cameron Faller. Bring your bible and have it blessed by Father. There will be time for reading and discussing Bible verses, and will also allow for questions and faith sharing. The parish’s Bible Study program is sponsored by Epiphany’s Year of Faith Re-evangelization Advisory Committee. Bible Study on the Gospel of Mat-thew will continue on the Tuesdays indicated below:
