Questions of the Week
First Reading
We hear how the prophet Elisha and his
servant Gehazi repaid the Shunammite
woman for her generous hospitality. When have
you shown excessive generosity to another?
Second Reading
Paul taught the Roman Christians that through
Baptism, believers fully participate in the death,
burial, and resurrection of Christ. How should this
reality impact one’s day-to-day living?
Gospel Reading
Jesus continues to teach his followers the
challenges of discipleship. What do you find most
challenging in following Christ?
We Care Fund Applications
All Saints has been very generous to this
fund dedicated to helping those in economic
hardship because of the epidemic. So far,
approximately $14,934 has been donated. $5,100 has
been disbursed to 11 households to help them with
mortgages, rents, utilities and food. If you know
someone in need, please direct them to our website or
app to fill out an application. All Saints Women’s Group
Our mission is to encourage and unite the
women of All Saints Parish to join in prayer,
fellowship and to build a closer relationship with
Christ. Come, join us, new members are always
welcome!
Purchase SCRIP at the Parish Office
We are happy to announce that you may
purchase SCRIP gift cards at the Parish Office during
regular business hours. See our updated SCRIP Special
Order Form in this week’s bulletin. Merchants colored
in yellow are in stock. Thank you for supporting
All Saints SCRIP!
Brenda Ray
Every summer our eyes feast on the colors and
vibrancy of the flower bed that lies next to our
parking lot. This is Brenda Ray’s good work.
Her love for flowers and her love for All Saints
is obvious in how well it is tended.
We thank Brenda for this gift
and on-going commitment.
We have another bed in front of the convent that
could use similar love. If interested, talk to Tom.
Online study on the Gospel of Mark
Beginning Wednesday, July 1 at 6:30 pm
and through the month of July, Tom Bogenschutz will
lead an online study and reflection on the Gospel of
Mark. Mark's Gospel is especially pertinent to our
times because the forefront of Mark's concern was to
equip Christian believers for discipleship in difficult
times. All you need is a computer, an email, and your
bible. If interested, register by sending Tom an
email, [email protected].

Justice Challenge
13th Week in Ordinary Time
This week we celebrate the feast of Saints Peter and
Paul.
We have heard the stories of Sts. Peter and Paul many
times in the scriptures.
Peter was a fisherman. He became a disciple.
He denied Jesus. He loved Jesus. He preached to the
Gentiles.
Paul was known as Saul. We hear of him persecuting
Christians. He has an amazing conversion story.
We read his many letters to the communities in the
bible.
Read more at… https://www.catholic.org/saints/
Our challenge this week…How are we called this
week to be disciples? Whose life are we willing to
touch? How are we willing to engage in the needs
of the world? Choose one intentional way to live as
a disciple this week.
We also celebrate our national holiday…July 4th…
Independence Day.
We have read the stories of our nation’s
independence in our history books. We have seen
Hollywood’s portrayals of it at the movies. It is
appropriate for us to pause and give the honor and
respect that is due to those who have given it all for
us to be able to celebrate today.
Our challenge this week…In this ever shifting time
of 2020, let us take a look at what is making history
today. What does it say about independence in our
country? What do we need to work for to insure
independence for all? Hard choices…hard work…
work for all.
As we reflect on what the 4th of July…Independence
Day means to us, here are reflections from the
archives of Busted Halo…
https://bustedhalo.com/blogs/declaring-yourindependence
or
https://bustedhalo.com/life-culture/independence-day
Blessings to all on this July 4, 2020.
Summer 2020
Catholic Kids Activity Book
We recently added a new summer resource to our
App and website. We think you will enjoy these
creative activities focused on saints with summer feast
days. Check out the Catholic Kids Activity Book on our
Youth button on the App. You can also find this book
on our website’s GIFT page. Click on the Seasonal tab
then choose Ordinary Time.
We spent last year learning more about sharing God’s
love. How are we doing with sharing this summer?
In our 2nd reading this weekend, Romans 6:3-4, 8-11,
we are reminded what it means to be baptized.
We are baptized into Jesus’ death.
As Catholic Christians, we remember that death was not
the end of the story…
If we are baptized in Jesus’ death, then are we not also
baptized into Jesus’ life and mission as we live our lives
here on earth?
We see the cross. We know the sacrifice. We live and
share God’s love.
