Do you love Old Chicago Pizza? We have Pizza Pal cards, they are good for a one time use. You pay $11 for the card and it’s good for up to $25 for a pizza. Dine in only. Sunday – Thursday. The proceeds

go to the Youth Ministry department! Come by the office to purchase the cards. Thank you.

PASTOR’S POTPOURRI – DO YOU LOVE ME?

The gospel today reveals the love of the Lord who was known as the son of a carpenter, showing those who had made a living as fishermen, how to fish. When the apostles were not sure what they should be doing after the resurrection, they went back to what they knew…and that was fishing. Peter and the others fished all night and caught nothing. But at Jesus’ instruction, they caught so many fish that they could barely haul the net in…153 fish to be exact. After Jesus feeds them, he takes Peter aside and asks three times if Peter loves him more than the others do. It was a gentle way for the Master to forgive Peter for his denying him three times. Peter told the Lord that he knew everything and he knew that Peter loved him. The Lord says that he must show it by feeding the lambs and feeding the sheep…by taking care of the flock.

In the Easter time it is good for us to hear this passage again. It reminds us that we are to take care of each other…with the food of kindness and mercy, with encouraging words and support, with being close to those who suffer and mourn. That is the way we show the Lord we love him.

— Fr. Bob
