Thinking Big New Ambitions for English and the Humanities Humanities research is developing at a new scale and in new directions, requiring us to ‘think bigger’ (and differently) than before. How is English as a discipline adapting to these changes? To respond to these questions, the Institute of English Studies in partnership with the School of English, University of Newcastle, is hosting a two-day conference focusing on five areas: partnership working, public engagement, interdisciplinarity, digital innovation and the international context for humanities research, each convened by a leading specialist in the field.
