“We live in a society exquisitely dependent on scienceand technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything

about science and technology.”

Think Helsinki, Think! (THT!) is a charity promoting scientific and critical thinking through events and actions, such as funding and building educational tools for kids

and supporting research with communications and donations.

THINK HELSINKI, THINK!

O U R M I S S I O N

Our mission is to make people think, to start trusting science again, to question what they read, see and hear and to encourage others to do the same.

For sanity, for questioning the world around us, and helping people understand and to think.

We raise funds for this cause through several means, the biggest being our single day events in Helsinki, Finland that bring together great minds

in science and critical thinking, scientists, lecturers, comedians, and all the rest of us for one night.

The events have two purposes: to create awareness and to raise funds for the charity.

Our first event was held in the Savoy Theatre in Helsinki this april to a sold out audience and a great number of live stream watchersthrough HSTV (Helsingin Sanomat).

THINK HELSINKI, THINK!

Our speakers in Savoy included legendary The Amazing James Randi, comedian Reginald D. Hunter, scientists Tara Shears, Iiris Hovatta and Syksy Räsänen.

Our message was noticed in media big time. Helsingin sanomat, YleX, Yle Aamu-tv, Strada, Iltalehti, Radio Nova, Radio Rock etc...

And the most important thing is that the feedback from our audience has been marvellous.

The September event will again bring close to 750 guests to the beautiful Great Hall of The University of Helsinki to a beautiful visual and content-rich evening of

humour, comedy and opening eyes. Our event will be a part of Thinkfest organised by The University of Helsinki.

Robin Ince is a award-winning comedian and think-er probably most known for co-hosting The Infinite Monkey Cage with Professor Brian Cox.

Ben Goldacre is an award-winning writer, broad-caster, and medical doctor who specialises in un-picking scientific claims made by scaremongering journalists, government reports, pharmaceutical corporations, PR companies and quacks.

Sarah Kendall is an Australian comedian from Newcastle, New South Wales, now based in London. She attained much success on the Austra-lian comedy circuit since winning the Raw Comedy competition in 1998, regularly appearing on Aus-tralian television, before moving to the United Kingdom in 2000.

Sanal Edamaruku is an Indian author and rational-ist. He is the founder-president and editor of Ra-tionalist International, the president of the Indian Rationalist Association and the author of 25 books and other articles.

Robert Tercek is one of the world's most prolific creators of interactive content. He has created breakthrough entertainment experiences on every digital platform, including satellite television, game consoles, broadband Internet, interactive television and mobile networks.

Jamie MacDonald is a Canadian-Finnish actor and comedian, known for his surreal style of comedy. What can he say - being half-Finnish, half-Scot-tish, all Canadian, transgender, and an expat will do that to you. Jamie will return to hosting the show to the September show as well, as he did an amazing job in the April version.

We already have great partners, like Sanoma and Google giving us over $250,000 in media spend. All of our events and activities will be streamed live online for everyone.

Think Helsinki, Think! has three types of sponsors: Those who support us financially, those who provide us services for free or for a discounted rate and those who we like and like to promote.

Our sponsor packages start from 2000 euros and every cent helps us to make better events and help the world think more and better.

In our April event 3 Kaverin Jäätelö gave out close to 200 kilos of free ice cream at the event, should you be there too?

We also have a gift bag that we want to make the best there is. If you have a prod-uct you think would fit in the bag, contact us and we'll talk more whether it does.

Our events are only the spearhead of our activities. We are planning a weekly sci-ence show together with a media company and a monthly stand-up club and public challenges (like The One Million Dollar Challenge we have with The James Randi

Educational Foundation).

We are also planning educational materials for web and mobile devices.

So we have a pretty good knowledge on what can and should be done, but we’re open to changes and negotiations.

We’re cool like that.
