Preparation, Safety and Effective Communication

• Prepare and organise work to ensure it can be undertaken in a safe and efficient manner • Carry out safety checks, both inside and outside the vehicle and on ticket issuing equipment to ensure it is fit for use• Report defects to the vehicle or equipment in line with organisational procedures • Complete all the necessary documents related to journeys and pass them to the correct person• Confirm the vehicle’s service or defect record is current and meets approved requirements• Deal with problems and report all issues and concerns and obtain another vehicle if necessary

Behaviours

• Show respect to beliefs and personal circumstances of others• Report hazardous situations in line with organisational procedures• Warn others when hazardous situations arise, while remaining calm• Show confidence in the safety of your passengers, yourself and others

During your observation you need to show off all the knowledge, skills and behaviours you have learnt during your apprenticeship.

Your observation will usually last 1 hour, you should take the time to demonstrate to your end-point assessor all areas and if you wish, you can explain what you are doing and why youare doing it.

Keep an eye on the time and make sure you cover all the areas and tasks you planned to show the assessor.
