Things to Remember NO SCHOOL MONDAY 9/10 OBSERVANCE OF ROSH HASHANAH NO School Wednesday 9/19 Shapes and Boxes Unit of Study Week Please refer to notice and have fun searching for boxes/pictures to share with our friends. Tuesday 9/11: Please bring in an item that begins with “C” to share and describe and an item that is usually shaped like a TRIANGLE. Wear and bring in something WHITE. Wednesday 9/12 : Please bring in a square shaped item wear/bring something that is gray to share. Thursday 9/13: Please bring in a small empty box with a rectangle side (pudding, instant rice, tea, etc.) We will be using them to paint printed rectangles. Please bring in pictures of items that begin with “C” for your child’s alphabet book. Please wear pink and bring in something to share that is pink. Friday 9/14: Please wear something black and bring in something to shaped like a circle.. Monday 9/17: Please bring in an oval shaped item and wear brown. Needed: The Front of boxes of NAME brand cereals. No rush- if you finish a box please send in the entire front of the box. The children will be “READING” the panels. Name Writing Practice : Please continue to have your child practice writing his/her name at home using strokes- Big Lines, Little Lines, Big Curves, Little Curves. We encourage them to write their name independently on their projects. TIP : Have your child trace their name with light colored marker, trace in air, trace in sand, use an easel (if you do not have one-a slanted binder encourages proper wrist motion) pencil grips are helpful with pencil grip ( can be purchased at a stationary store)Pencil Grip Practice: Place pencil/crayon/marker down on table with the point facing their tummy. Pinch the pencil with thumb and pointer finger toward bottom and pick up resting on middle finger. 4’s-Please practice using lower case letters. Keep practicing!!! HOH - If you see HOH on your child’s paper it means that a teacher helped using Hand Over Hand assistance. Snack/Lunch: Please keep snack and lunch in separate containers. Lunch in a NAME LUNCH LABELED LUNCH BOX AND SNACK IN EITHER A NAME SNACK LABELED PAPER OR PLASTIC BAG. WE ENCOURAGE THE CHILDREN TO GET THEIR OWN SNACKS FROM DESIGNATED BASKETS. HAVING THEM SEPARATE AIDS THEM IN DEVELOPING THIS INDEPENDENCE. EXAMPLE: BARBARA LUNCH BARBARA SNACKS DRINKS: PLEASE BE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS ENOUGH TO DRINK.
