“Thin Air” was inspired by the unique site on which it sits. With one of the most spectacular views of the Wasatch front and nearly 1000 acres of protected wildlife habitat as its back yard, the central design theme is a seamless celebration and meditation of nature.

Situated at nearly 7000’ on the edge of a preserve in Summit County, Utah, Thin Airevokes respect and awe for this great planet while demonstrating harmony and care in home building.

From the sprawling cantilever observation deck, to the subterranean library – with direct access to valley wildlife – every room embraces the view.

At the same time, the design incorporates a space plan that is adaptable to various family and/or visitor configurations. With three independent Master Suites (one with an attached bunk room), two laundries and a guest kitchenette, Thin Air is comfortable as a primary residence or a multi-generation/multi-family get-away.

Harmony begins with site selection. Thin Air is a repurposed site within

walking/biking distance of all community and personal needs.

Construction management

• Prior home was entirely deconstructed and donated to Habit for Humanity using The ReUse People and Silverado Construction

• All construction waste managed through LEED certified agent (Dunn Recycling)

• All materials are Low/No VOC

• Most framing, beams and panels are FSC certified

• All cabinetry uses sustainably farmed cherry veneer

• All floors are FSC certified solid maple

Site management

• 35 new trees planted (100% increase)

Air quality

• Fresh outside air exchanged with inside air using a Heat Recovery Ventilator to increase air quality while ensuring minimal energy loss
