Corn Moon DinnerThree Friends, Five Farms and One Long Table in a Pasture

Corn Moon Dinner is a grassroots fundraiser, with two goals. The short-term goal of Corn Moon Dinner is to raise enough money to start a food system in Cattaraugus County. The basic premise of the food system is to provide fresh, locally grown produce and pasture raised meats to area food pantries. The long-term goal is to create an organization, Edible Grace. This organization would be the liaison between local farms and food pantries. Edible Grace would also educate food pantries, food pantry customers and the general public on how to create meals out of the food they receive from the farms and ranches. Sojourner Farms of Olean, NY (pictured above) will host Corn Moon Dinner on August 21, 2010 from 6pm-9pm. Culinary Institute of America graduate, Elizabeth Bares and Garrett Taylor will be preparing the fi ve - course meal with wine pairings from Leonard Oakes Winery of Niagara County. Corn Moon Dinner seating is very limited. Reservations go on sale June 21, 2010. Please call Elizabeth Bares 716-307-1494 or Megan Taylor 716-373-0253 for reservations and questions.
