  • The  true  story  of  Hansel and Gretel

    By:Alec  Cerra

  • Once  upon  a  time,  There  was  a  King  (king  William  to  be  specific)  and  his  beautiful  Queen  who  lived  in  a  small  village  in  England,  with  their  two  children  Hansel  and  Gretel.  Hansel  and  Gretel  were  two  complete  OPPOSITES!  Gretel  had  long  blonde  hair,  and  she  was  very  tall.  But  Hansel  had  brown  hair  and  was  very  short.  They  were  a  pretty  happy  family  until…  “DAD!  Hansel  hurt  the  dog!”  yelled  Gretel.  “MOM!  Gretel  kicked  me!”  hollered  Hansel.  “Both  of  you,  go  to  your  rooms!”  replied  their  father  strictly.  “But  dad!”  Hansel  said,  “Hansel…GO!”  the  Queen  commanded.                “Will  they  ever  stop  fighting?”  asked  King  William.  “Who  knows…give  them  time”  replied  the  Queen.  “Martha,  they’re  ten!”  the  King  said  angrily.  “Just  give  them  time”  She  repeated.

2 months later… When  Hansel  and  Gretel  were  in  their  rooms,  they  began  to  fight…AGAIN!  “Hansel!  Stop  pinching  me!”    Shouted  Gretel.  “Stop  being  so  sensitive,  wimp!”  said  Hansel,  “MOM!”…  “DAD!”…  “BOTH  OF  YOU,  STOP  IT!”  shouted  the  QUEEN.  “See  Martha,  even  you’re  sick  of  it!”  said  the  King  with  triumph.  “What  are  we  going  to  do  with  them?...”  But  Hansel  and  Gretel  over  heard  their  parents  talking.

That very night… “Hansel?  Gretel  whispered.  “Yeah  Gretel?”  replied  Hansel,  “Why  do  you  think  our  parents  are  always  annoyed  at  us?”  Gretel  said.  “Maybe  we  should  just  get  out  of  their  lives”…  “Hansel…  you  don’t  mean…”  said  Gretel.  “Oh,  you  know  what  I  mean!”

  • Finding the candy house… “Hansel,  this  is  the  stupidest  idea  you’ve  ever  had!”  said  Gretel.  “I  kind  of  agree…because  were  lost”  replied  Hansel.  “LOST!  LOST!  Oh,  you’ve  got  to  be  kidding  me!  LOST!  Lost…”  “GRETEL!  Stop  flipping  out!”  yelled  Hansel.  “Wait  do  you  smell  that?”  they  walked  a  little  farther  then  there  was  a  marvelous  sight!  Gretel  couldn’t  believe  her  eyes.  “Hansel!  Do  you  see  this?  Its  grand!”  “Yes!  It  is  but…  why  is  a  house  made  of  candy  in  The  Dark  woods?”  Hansel  asked.  “WHO  CARES!  ITS  CANDY!”  shouted  Gretel.  “Well  we  haven’t  had  candy  since  my  Birthday…which  was  seven  months  ago!”  said  Hansel,  “LETS  GO!”              Then  all  of  a  sudden,  an  old  woman  came  out  of  the  house.  “Hello  there!”  she  said.  “Hello!  We’re  sorry,  we  were  eating  part  of  your  house,  ma’am”  Hansel  said  kindly.  “Oh,  that’s  ok!  Just  one  little  question…what  are  you  to  doing  out  here?”  the  old  woman  said.  “We  ran  away  from  our  parents,  into  the  forest”  said  Gretel.  “Who  are  your  parents?”  she  asked.  “King  William  and  Queen  Martha”  Gretel  replied.  “WOW!  You  to  ran  away  from  royalty!  WHY?”  the  woman  asked.  “Our  parents  got  REALLY  mad  at  us!  And  we  felt  like  they  would  be  happy  if  we  got  out  of  their  lives”  Hansel  said  with  his  eyes  tearing  up.            “If  you  are  royal…eat  all  you  want!”  they  rest  of  the  day  Hansel  and  Gretel  ate  all  they  could.

Spending the night…  “Miss?”  asked  Hansel.  “WHAT  DO  YOU  WANT?!”  the  old  hag  screamed.  “We’re  tired,  can  we  sleep  here?”  Gretel  asked.  The  woman  walked  outside  with  the  kids.  “You!”  she  said  and  pointed  at  Gretel.  “Me,  what?”  Gretel  asked.  “COME  WITH  ME!”  she  ordered.  “Where  am  I  going?”  she  asked,  “In  that  cage!  You’re  going  to  taste  GOOD!”  the  old  hag  said.  “HANSEL!  HELP!  HANSEL!”  she  screamed.  “SHUT  UP!”  the  old  woman  said.    They  walked  down  the  long  hall.  Gretel  had  sweat  pouring  down  her  face,  it  was  so  hot  in  the  candy  house!  Then  they  walked  up  to  the  cage,  “get  in  there!”  the  old  woman  said.  “NO!  I  WILL  NOT!  YOU  SAID  I  WAS  ROYAL!  I  DEMAND  YOU  TO  LET  ME  GO!”  Gretel  demanded.  “I  said  you  WERE  royal!”  the  hag  shoved  Gretel  into  the  cage.

  • Back at the village…  “Where  are  they?  Where  are  they?  Where  are  they?”  Martha  thought  to  herself  on  a  cold  Thursday  night.  “Martha,  come  on.  Time  to  go  to  bed.”  The  king  said.  “Ok,  but...  when  do  you  think  they’ll  come  back  home?”  asked  the  Queen.  “I  hope  its  soon…do  you  think  they  went  into  the  Dark  Forest?”  asked  William,  while  he  was  looking  out  the  window.

The great escape… Is  Gretel  ok?  What  can  I  do  to  help  her…to  save  her?  All  these  thoughts  went  around  his  head.  Hansel  peeked  inside  the  Hell  House,  where  is  she?  Hansel  thought.    “HELP!  HANSEL?  HANSEL?”  hollered  Gretel  from  the  cage.    Hansel  walked  farther…farther…farther  “HANSEL!  HELP!  HANSEL?  Hansel?”  Ok,  now  I’ve  got  her!  She’s  in  this  room!  He  opened  the  door  in  shock.  Gretel  was  trapped  in  a  cage!  “Hansel!  Come  get  me  out  before  the  witch  sees  us!  Come  on!”  whispered  Gretel.

The brave knight… “Martha,  I’m  sending  our  best  knight  out  to  look  for  Hansel  and  Gretel  In  the  Dark  Forest”  the  king  said.  “Make  the  reward  two-‐thousand”  the  Queen  said.              The  king  walked  through  the  long  hall  to  where  the  knights  lived.  He  found  the  right  room,  and  walked  in.  “CAN  I  SEE  KNIGHT  431?”  the  king  ordered.  The  knight  stood  up,  he  followed  the  king  into  the  hallway.  “I  need  you  to  do  a  task  for  me”  the  king  said.  “Ok,  what?”  the  knight  asked.  “My  children  are  missing,  if  you  find  them  two-‐thousand  dollars  is  all  yours”!  The  king  said.  “I’ll  do  it...”  The  knight  said.    “But  one  question…where?”    “The  dark  forest”  the  king  said.  “Forget  it!”  the  knight  said.  “Then  no  money!  I’ll  give  you  time  to  think”  the  king  said  then  walked  away.

The great escape part 2 “WHAT  ARE  YOU  DOING  IN  HERE,  ILL  EAT  YOU  TOO!”  the  witch  screamed.  Then  Hansel  turned  around  and  kicked  the  hag  into  the  fire  tip  and  closed  the  lid.  “LET  ME  OUT!  LET  ME  OUT!  LET  ME  OUT!  PLEASE!  ILL  DIE  IN  THERE!  PLEASE!”  the  witch  screamed.  “Hansel,  you  did  it!”  Gretel  said…”NOW  GET  ME  OUT,  MY  BACK  HURTS!”  Hansel  grabbed  the  key,  and  then  Gretel  was  free!

    The dark night…

  • Hansel  and  Gretel  darted  out  of  the  house,  and  back  into  the  pitch  black  night…

Back at the castle… That  night  the  king  went  back  to  the  room,  and  the  whole  room  was  empty.  But  there  was  a  note…  Dear  king  William,  We  went  to  look  for  your  kids  in  the  dark  forest,  be  back  late  tonight.  The  knights

  • Back in the woods “Hansel,  are  we  lost?”  Gretel  asked.  “No,  I  remember  the  way  back  home”    “HEY  IS  ANYBODY  OUT  HERE?”  a  voice  boomed.  “ARE  HANSEL  AND  GRETEL  OUT  HERE?  THE  KING  SENT  US  OUT  TO  BRING  YOU  HOME,  WE  ARE  KNIGHTS”  the  voice  said  again.  “Yes,  we  are  out  here!  Hansel  got  us  lost!  HELP!”  Gretel  shouted.  “OK,  WE  WILL  COME  TO  YOU,  GIVE  US  A  SIGNAL!”  Hansel  remembered  the  flashlight  he  brought.  “Gretel,  do  you  have  any  metal  on  you?”  He  asked.  “Yes,  my  earrings  have  metal  on  them,  here  you  go”  she  said  as  she  handed  them  to  Hansel.  Then  he  shined  the  light  on  the  earrings  and  let  out  a  signal.  “OK,  WE  SEE  YOU”  the  knights  ran  after  them,  and  picked  them  up  in  his  arms.

That night… It  was  a  crazy  night,  the  king  and  Queen  were  blessed  that  they’re  children  were  found…and  the  knights  all  got  two-‐thousand  dollars.  And  they  all  lived  happily  ever  after…
