About the Author

I am a Level III graduate student attending the University of Houston, in the nal year of the Master of Architecture Professional Degree Program. I was born in New Brunswick, NJ to parents who worked in the city. I spent the majority of my formidable years in Jacksonville, FL. I’ve been interested in architecture from a very early age and my family sought to further cultivate my interest through variousvarious family vacations throughout North America and Europe to architecturally stimulating destinations. For someone who grew up in the world’s largest suburb, Jacksonville, FL, I have always been drawn to bustling cities. The sights, smells, noises, movement has always had soothing effect on my ever-wandering and curious affinity towards my surroundings. That is why I have sought institutions of higher learning within urban contexts. I received a Bachelors of ScienceScience in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati (DAAP) in 2009. I have been fortunate to complete 7 internship opportunities with 5 unique rms in Florida, Ohio and China. My time working in China changed my perception of the profession and emboldened me to become a stronger, more thoughtful designer. My work experience allows me to alter the perspective of my task in academia from a practical standpoint while still allowing me the freedom to experiment.
