“Do not be anxious about anything.” We read these words in scripture and wonder: How can I do this? How can I turn my cares and concerns over to God? How can I achieve “the peace of God that exceeds all understanding?” Paul knew that the early Christians had much to be concerned about. How can we apply his assurance of God’s peace to our lives today?

April 21 Success Philippians 2:3-11 “Success Story”

Society tells us that if we do well, we earn more, and we live comfortably, we are successful. The Bible has a different message. Jesus tells us that those who are least are the greatest in God’s Kingdom. Paul says, “In humility, value others above yourselves.” We know what success means, right? How should we define success?

April 28 Happiness Philippians 4:10-13 “Come What May”

“I have learned the secret to being content in any and every circumstance.” Paul used these words to assure early Christians that happiness does not depend on our material well-being. On what does our happiness depend? Can we learn to find contentment, whatever our circumstances?
