    8. Sew (1) EFE set to top and bottom of (1) FEF set to make nine patch square. Make (14) FE nine patch squares. Square to 6".

    9. Repeat steps 6-8 using E and H strips to make (64) EHE sets and (32) HEH sets. Make (16) HE nine patch squares.

    10. With A triangle in upper right corner of G snowball square, sew (1) FE nine patch square to left side. Make (14) FEG sets.

    11. Sew (2) FEG sets together, rotating one set as shown. Make (7) F snowball 9-patch blocks. Square to 11 ½".

    12. Repeat steps 10 and 11 using HE sets to make (8) H snowball 9-patch blocks.

QUILT ASSEMBLY Refer to quilt diagram for placement13. Alternate blocks as shown with (1) I 1 ¾" x 11 ½" strip between them and at ends of rows. Sew blocks and strips together to make block rows.

    14. Sew (5) I 1 ¾" x 11 ½" strips with (6) F 1 ¾" squares as shown to make lattice rows.

    15. Sew block rows and lattice rows together.

BORDER ASSEMBLYMeasure width and length of quilt top to ensure border cutting sizes. Below are our sizes. 16. Sew (1) D 3 ½" x 75 ¼" to right and left of quilt top. Sew (1) D 3 ½" x 69" to top and bottom of quilt top.

FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3" larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual.

BLOCK ASSEMBLY: Snowball Path Block1. Sew (1) A triangle to side of (1) D 4 3/8" square. Sew (3) B triangles to remaining sides of D square. Make (30) D snowball squares. Square to 6".

    2. From the top left and bottom right corners of (1) D 6" square, mark 3" as shown. Draw a diagonal line connecting marks. Place (1) C triangle RST on D square, having point toward center and base of triangle on the diagonal line. Sew ¼" seam across base of triangle. Trim to ¼" seam allowance. Repeat on opposite side of D square to make CDC square. Make (30) CDC squares. Square to 6".

    3. With A and C triangles in upper left corners, sew (1) D snowball square to left side of (1) CDC square. Make (30) D/CDC sets.

    4. Sew (2) D/CDC sets together, rotating one set as shown. Make (15) snowball path blocks. Square to 11 ½".

    Snowball 9-patch Block5. Repeat step 1 using same A and B triangles with (1) G 4 3/8" square in center in-stead of D square. Make (30) G snowball squares. Square to 6".

    6. Sew (2) E 2 3/8" x WOF strips to either side of (1) F 2 3/8" x WOF strip. Make (4) EFE strip sets. Sub cut into (56) EFE 2 3/8" sets.

    7. Sew (2) F 2 3/8" x WOF strips to either side of (1) E 2 3/8" x WOF strip. Make (2) FEF strips sets. Sub cut sets into (28) FEF 2 3/8" sets.
