HAPPY FEET MINISTRY “How beautiful are the feet of those who
bring good news”.
Want to have a lot of fun? Come and join us on
Thursdays for Happy Feet.
FBC GOAL: 15,000.00 YTD: $8,085.00
The Missions Conference is an effort by our Missions Committee to
educate our church to the missions FBC is involved in directly and
indirectly through the Southern Baptist mission agencies—
International Mission Board (IMB) and North American Mission Board
(NAMB). Its short term goal is to introduce our members to
missionaries we help support through the Cooperative Program,
Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, and Lottie Moon Christmas
Offering, and give members an opportunity to build relationships with
these missionaries. The Missions Committee prays this will lead to
God burdening our member’s hearts to go and be involved in
missions with these or other missionaries. The Committee prays that
God will use it to open doors for future church-wide missions
opportunities. Long-term, the Missions Committee’s prayer is that it
will expose our young people to missionaries and missions, and that
God would call missionaries out of our church.
The Missions Committee is asking Sunday School classes to adopt
and host a missionary. The class will be responsible for making sure
the missionary has transportation to all events, is housed in a
member’s home, and is taken care of in general. If your class would
minister in this way please let Bro. B.J. know.
The Missions Conference begins Friday night, May 16 at 7 in the
FMC. The missionaries will have booths set up along the walls. Finger
foods will be served. At 7:30 one of the missionaries will address
everyone present for about 20 minutes with a second missionary
following at 8:00. Before these missionaries speak we encourage
everyone to mill around and talk with the missionaries, ask questions,
get to know them, let them tell you their story. Friday evening will
conclude at 9:00. This same type format will be followed Saturday
afternoon starting at 3. Two different missionaries will speak, one at
3:30 and one at 4:00. The afternoon session will conclude at 5:00.
During the evening we are asking Sunday School classes that are
hosting missionaries to have a class fellowship in order to spend
more time with your missionary.
Missionaries will be available at their booths on Sunday morning
during breakfast and some will be available during Sunday School to
speak with your class. D. Ray Davis, one of the Vice Presidents of the
IMB will be speaking at both morning services. One of the other
missionaries will share with us Sunday evening.
Make plans now to be here for every moment of the weekend. Take
this time to get to know your missionaries. Most of all listen to the
Lord as He speaks to your heart about your involvement in missions.

Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

MUSIC MINISTRY Join us TONIGHT in the evening service as we consider the cross. This will be an incredible night of praise and worship with the choir singing, along with congregational worship, “It’s About the Cross”,
with children’s stick presentation, testimonies, and video.
Flowers The flowers placed in the sanctuary today are to the glory of God and in memory of Linda Mullis by Leland and Betty Mullis and Brian and Brenda Lamy.
Please pray for the person that God will send to be the HEADMASTER for First Academy. We are accepting applications for this upcoming position and if you would be interested you are encouraged to submit your resume to the church office.
Please pray for our Curriculum Committee as they develop curriculum for the 2014-15 school year. Teaching from a Biblical Worldview in today’s secular world is not an easy task. We have to be very diligent with the task that God has given us.

Dear FBC Family, Amber, the kids and I want to thank you, with all our hearts, for the welcome we have received in the last week. You have made us feel more than welcome; you have made us feel like family. We are excited about the weeks, months and years ahead. The adventure is just starting here for us and we are ready to live it. I ask that you join me in prayer for the student ministry here at FBC. I have met most of the youth and I must say that we have a fine group. Please be in prayer for my calling here, and that of all other youth volunteers and teachers, as we move to disciple our young people. Scripture is very clear as to our duty as parents and adult leaders. We are to teach His ways to those who come after us. This is my goal; to read, teach and live His Word. May God bless our students and may God bless you. Serving Him Together, Mike Clements – Student Pastor
On Sunday evening, April 27th after the evening worship time we will have a church-wide ice cream social celebrating Sunday School and also to welcome Mike Clements, our new Minister of Students. You will have an opportunity to visit with Mike and his family and also to contribute to the money tree that will be set up in the FMC. Don’t forget to bring your favorite toppings to go along with the delicious ice cream that will be served.
This morning the Associational Bible Drill winners are assisting in Worship by performing the Stick Ministry presentation of Arise, My Love. The black pants they wear represent the darkness of our sin, the death we deserve, and the agony of the Cross Jesus bore for us. The white shirts represent Christ’s pureness and holiness, His victorious resurrection, and the New Life He offers to those who believe in Him, and trust in Him for their salvation. Their bare feet signify the act of coming before the Holy Christ in complete humility and recognition of their sinfulness. We invite you to come to the Cross and celebrate His Resurrection with them today!
