President’s Note

As my Presidency comes to a close, I can hardly believe two years have passed. This has been one of the highlights of my retirement years. I could not have asked for better Executive and Extended Board members. All of you made my job easier and made me look good in the process. I look forward to continuing to serve the Association in the coming years. And a Thousand Million Thanks to all members who continue to support the Association!

Sandy Jewett, President

Quilters for Others

While June may be bustin’ out all over, we hope you are bustin with ideas and will join us for Quilters for Others on WEDNESDAY April 24th from 9:30-2:30 or whenever you can make it.

We will see you at St James Presbyterian Church on Ventura Blvd just west of Tampa. You may bring your machine if you wish, but there will be plenty for you to help finish if you just bring your willing self.

Lunch is available near by.

We hope to see you there.

Linda Deckard, Jan Lauritzen, Jan Livingston

Opportunity Quilt "Razzle Dazzle".

Membership

At the April 11 meeting we had 78 members and two guests in attendance.

Please remember to renew your membership at the May meeting so we can be sure to get you into the roster in time. To make things easier for you and our quilt mom, we are now taking membership dues ($40) and opportunity quilt ticket payments ($20) at the same time for a total of $60. If you have lost your name badge and want a new one or want a handy second one to keep in your car, add $7 to order a new badge. We are now accepting credit card payments. So you no longer need to remember to bring your checkbook to the meetings!

Hope to see you at the quilt show!

Membership Mary Flacco and Melanie Jocson

IMPORTANT LIBRARY NOTICE

In case you were not yet aware, the association has decided to discontinue the Library and liquidate the items. It seems most quilters now rely on the internet for information and instruction, and our collection has outlived its usefulness.

Due to the Quilt Show we will not try to add to the busy weekend with more sale at the May meeting, but the cabinet contents and all other library material will be offered again at the June meeting. We'll do our best to make it easier to view.

Judy and I have thoroughly enjoyed our ten year term as librarians, and we thank you for your interest, contributions, and suggestions.

Judy Cason and Lorene Robbins

Thank you to the April birthdays for the refresh-ments. Those members who have a birthday in May are requested to bring snacks to the May 13th meet-ing. May is also our Association anniversary month and we will be having our cake.

There have been numerous requests that any goodies brought in for hospitality indicate if they have any nuts in them.

Thankyou.
