CHILDLINE MALAYSIA
•Childline Malaysia, an NGO initiated the establishment of 15999 Childline with the Government
•Launched in November 2010 •Within the last 2 years, more than 9,000
calls for information, support and help have been received

CHILDLINE MALAYSIA
• The services to children are a shared responsibility between the government and Childline Malaysia and other volunteer organisations that forms the child protection system
• Infrastructure and operations of the helpline are funded and supported by the government
• Childline M’sia main role is education, outreach, promotion to children and public and establishing partner networks for interventions, care and rehabilitaiton

Social Mental Health issues
- About 20% are related to child maltreatment – mainly physical abuse, emotional abuse and sexual abuse
• OTHER GOVERNMENT STATISTICS
- Issues related to Family Relationships are on the rise (Divorce rates have gone up to about 20% ( about 40,000 )
- Teenage pregnancies have risen to 18,000 in 2011 with child marriages and baby abandonment increasing
- Bullying in schools and cyber bullying cases are on the rise
