Assignments:

1. Study Guide & Presentations– You will be given a study guide for this novel. It is for you to fill out as you read the book. Each student will sign up for a set of chapters and questions. You will be working with a group of students for your selected chapters, but within each group, decide who will be responsible for which questions. You will present the answers to your questions in front of the class, and each student will be graded individually on the specific questions that you will present. Be a thorough as possible. The study guide will not be graded, but it will be taken for extra credit at the end of the unit.

2. Reading Quizzes. Expect a quiz covering the reading for each week on each due date; you

may use your study packet for the quiz.

3. Literary Analysis Essay. You will choose a motif and write a compare contrast on how the motif is treated differently between The Great Gatsby and Their Eyes Were Watching God. Your paper will be submitted through Turnitin.com.
