Step One:

Choose a scene or short play (either one we have read in class or one of your own choosing). Scenes must be classroom appropriate and cannot be altered in any way (no line omissions or changes). If you have chosen your own scene, you must obtain a copy of the scene on your own! These sites: http://www.dailyscript.com/movie.html and http://www.dailyscript.com/tv.html are good resources for scenes.

Each person in the group is responsible for their own script. The scripts may not be kept by the Materials Manager (see below).

Step Two:

Step Two: Assign roles and make a contact list. Who will play each character? How will you get in touch with them if they are absent? What additional job assignment will each person have? Job Assignments: Materials Manager keeps all of the materials in order for the project.Stage Manager keeps rehearsals on task and contacts people when they are absent/miss work. Properties Manager keeps track of props/costumes and who will bring them.Director will write the blocking for the entire show on their script and assist the Stage Manager. Actor’s Name Character Phone # Email Job Assignment

Step Three: Set up a rehearsal schedule. How many days will you rehearse? What will you do on each day? Blocking? Character work? Prop/costume planning?

Mark your plan on the calendar. Make sure to take into account when cast members know they will be absent AND your final performance dates.
