Sport Relief Sport Relief 2018 will run from 17th to 23rd March. We will have a non- uniform day in school on Friday 23rd, but will expect the children to come in any sports clothes of their choice and donate £1. We are also going to participate in the Sport Relief Mile on the day. All children will take part and those wanting to have a go at raising additional money for Sport Relief will be able to pick up a sponsorship form from Mr Garcia. We will also be selling wristbands for £1 all week. We will send out more information closer to the time. The Wow Factor… Our Creative Cornerstones Curriculum is really adding the wow factor to children’s learning. Topic and the way we deliver it across school is coming out top in pupil feedback. Our children are really excited by our topic choices and really appreciate all the trips and visitors that bring the curriculum to life. Science has also seen a massive upsurge of interest with Miss Craven and Miss Hodgins putting the ‘awe and wonder’ back into science investigations and demonstrations. This has really sparked our children’s interest and hopefully put some of them on a path to become the scientists of the future. Keep your eye on the class blogs for the latest investigations such as the Whoosh Bottle Experiment. School Dates School closes for half term on Friday 16th February and children return on Monday 26th. Thursday 29th March is the last day before the Easter holidays and children return on Monday 16th April. Open Evening is on Tuesday 24th April from 3.20-5.30pm and a great opportunity to see how vibrant and exciting our curriculum is. Parents’ Evening is on the following evening - Wednesday 25th April. Dear Families... We hope you have a relaxing half term break. The next half term is incredibly short as we break up for Easter on Thursday 29th March. However, we have an action packed couple of months ahead of us with plenty of dates for the diary. From World Book Day and the School Book Fair to Sport Relief, your support is always appreciated. World Book Day World Book Day is on Thursday 1st March and we are going to celebrate it with a dressing up day. There will be lots of creative book related activities taking place on the day and it would be great to see as many children as possible dressing up as their favourite book character. As part of the celebration the Book Fair will also be visiting us again. It will run from Wednesday 28th February to Monday 5th March.
