An initiative of the International Business Standards

Organization, the Worldwide Charter for Fair International Commerce is a free of

charge project, meant to promote sustainability and fair trade policies for companies and businesses all over the

world.

By joining the Worldwide Charter, the participants underlined their commitment to support for sustainable and positive business practices with an emphasis on social and environmental values. All listed in the Signatories Catalogue participants, receive permission to use the Charter Signatory logo and the Signatory Certificate to publicly demonstrate the commitment to mindful business practices.

Since the end of 2014, when the Worldwide Charter has been officially started, the project

became very popular. The Worldwide Charter has been featured in such major media as FOX23 News, World News, The

Boston Globe, Examiner, Google News and many others.

The number of Charter participants is continuing to grow every day.

The nine principles of the Worldwide Charter are clear and consistent.

All entrepreneurs, business owners, leaders from business, international agencies and institutions, non-government and civil society organizations,

academia and the media, by signing the Worldwide Charter for Fair International Commerce

on behalf of their organizations and businesses,

confirm that they agree and commit to the following principles:

The Worldwide Charter Principles:

★ As a minimum standard, comply with all applicable local, state, provincial and federal laws and regulations in all the countries where company operates.

★ Not sell or deal in counterfeit and pirated goods. Refrain from infringing on intellectual property or other proprietary rights owned by a third party.

★ Act with the highest ethical standards and integrity, implementing good faith and fair dealing norms and compete in a transparent and open manner with a zero tolerance on corruption.

The Worldwide Charter Principles:

★ Respect the relationships with contractors, partners, clients and customers. Any kind of fraud, falsifying or misrepresenting practice is unacceptable.

★ Present the organization’s financial data and non-financial information honestly, accurately and objectively.

★ Respect the cultures and customs of the countries in which the organization works by demonstrating a spirit of tolerance, integrity and social responsibility.

The Worldwide Charter Principles:

Wherever the operations are located, provide all internationally ★ recognized human rights, a safe work environment, fair treatment and

salary for all employees including the principle of “equal pay for equal work” without discrimination of any kind .

★ Take all possible measures to avoid or minimize damage to the environment and human health.

★ Take all actions necessary to comply with the requirements of this Charter. Senior management of signatories will assume the responsibility for realizing the letter and spirit of these principles.
