Following the desktop review, the mission preparation takes place, also at the home base and includes the following tasks:
Identify stakeholders to interview• Indicate topics of discussion• Contact stakeholders and set up meeting agenda• Liaise with Trade Logistics GPS/product team to confirm
mission plan and discuss any issues

In-Country Fieldwork
In-country fieldwork is comprised of several procedural and technical tasks undertaken by the team in the client country. The scoping mission(s) typically would involve -
Kick-off meeting with client • Introduce mission team• Outline mission plan
Assess the country political economy• Identify potential reform champion (ministry/leadership)• Institutional liaison for IFC in client country - firm up Government counterpart(s) with
IFC on upcoming Trade Logistics Program
Identify opportunities for collaboration with partners • World Bank Group projects i.e. PREM Trade and Transport• IMF, WCO, DFID and other donor assistance

Once the in-country fieldwork is completed a typical post mission follow up would include:
Prepare and present a Trade Logistics Memo to counterpart agency
• covering– Context & background– Process mapping & analysis– Supply chain hotspots– Strategy for technical assistance– Establishment of a reform leadership group to lead the reform
program– Summary of recommendations– Action plan to guide reform action
Secure formal client agreement to proceed
