1- Create a New Notebook

Create your own title. 2- Click “New Note in ‘Name’ Notebook

A blank box will appear. Create a Title of the document. Tags can also be added. You can add pictures, use annotations such as highlighting or using grammar icons, as well as type your responses to the document.

3- Inserting Documents, Pictures and Audio Files

Audio and video files can be inserted from “File” to either “New Audio” or “New FaceTime” icons, as seen on the left. Images can be inserted by right clicking to “Import Image” as seen on the right picture. On MacBooks, pictures can be dragged into EverNote. Files can also be inserted by the “Attach Files” icon under “File”.

4- Adding Tags to your file

Tags are written where the “click” box is at the top of your screen. Tags are useful for grouping information from other notebooks (i.e. Each notebook is a different child, a tag could identify similar assignments).

5- Adding Annotations

***Any changes you make to an Evernote Document must be done as a PDF. Page can be rotated using top right drop down menu. Changes to the document will save when you exit the pop-up screen.

Click to insert. Big blue dots on ends changes size.

Click and drag to preferred size. Colour is changed using F.

Click and hold while dragging to highlight. Colour change using F.

Click to insert. Icons include: Check mark, X, ?, !, and a heart.

6- Sharing EverNote Files

This icons allows you to send the document to whomever you wish. This would be beneficial in sharing information with parents through email or Google drives.

7- Making Notes

Communicating with parents or notes for future reference are important. Under the document, you can type what you like. In this example, the success criteria were outlined. The Red Box above inserts check boxes. Other icons in this bar work like the tool boxes in other programs.

BENEFITS of EverNote: -Take pictures of student’s tests, writing assignments, paintings etc to avoid bringing home too many papers-Audio files allow students to demonstrate reading abilities (i.e. fluency) that can be shared with parents-Annotations can be made without affecting the original document (i.e. editing tool) -Easy way to store and organize information-Direct and clear communication with parents
