Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch is a sustainable

food, wine and agricultural center located on a two-and-a-half-acre tract with a long agricultural history. The entire property is solar powered and maintained using traditional, sustainable and certified organic practices long employed at St. Helena’s Long Meadow Ranch.

Owned and developed by Long Meadow Ranch’s Ted and Laddie Hall and their son, Chris, the site attracts wine and food lovers due to the mix of restaurant, farm stand,

wine and olive oil tasting as well as educational efforts. Housed in a former nursery barn, the 110-seat Farmstead Restaurant features a central open kitchen as well as booth and table seating, a community dining table and a full bar.

During warm weather months, diners will be able to enjoy alfresco meals among espaliered apple trees as well as drinks at a poured concrete outdoor bar, adjacent to a stone fireplace.

Possessing a substantial background in

Southern cooking styles, chef Stephen emphasizes a wood-burning element for his dishes utilizing a wood-fire grill and oven.

TheEatGuide.com6

A Kentucky native, Chef Stephen Barber includes in his culinary career well-renown restaurants such as City Grocery in Mississippi working with Chef John Currence and Norman’s in Miami honing his craft under Chef Norman Van Aken. Building on his Southern roots, Stephen brings his own ingredient-driven approach to Farmstead’s American farmhouse cooking which utilizes the organic produce, grass-fed beef, eggs, and olive oils from Long Meadow Ranch and other local artisanal producers.
