Nantucket Island

Dear Fellow Islanders,

Frederick H. Webster was my great-grandfather. In 1921, he,

along with a small group of like-minded Nantucketers, assisted

David Gray in forming the Sankaty Head Golf Club. Four

generations later, members continue to benefit from the wise

course set so many years ago by that generation – building a

recreational club with the family at its center.

Those of us who prize what is best about this island again have an

opportunity to create a club based on the same enduring values of

friends and family, of vigorous games and good health, of

common courtesy and respect, all amidst Nantucket’s natural

beauty.

On a hill west of town is The Westmoor Club’s property. Fifteen

acres and a grand Nantucket house demand wise stewardship and

thoughtful planning. We had the opportunity to transform The

Westmoor Club into an institution that will shape the lives of our

families and friends for years to come. Picture it now, toddlers

learning to swim, the “thwack” of a solid serve on a grass court,

the soft “clack” of a well struck croquet ball, the laughter of

parents and grandparents together over a good meal in a

handsome dining room. This is what memories are made of. This is

how traditions begin.

If this vision, this opportunity, means to you and your family

what I believe it means to mine, I hope you will take time to

consider The Westmoor Club. Read what follows. Envision the

possibilities. We look forward to telling you more and to joining

with you to build a fine new club on Nantucket.

With kind personal regards,

Nowhere else on the island will one discover a

property as vast and picturesque as The Westmoor

Club. This grand space can be transformed for

private functions that will leave a lasting

impression for anniversaries, birthdays,

dream-come-true weddings, and any of life's

special occasions.

The old-fashioned way of describing a place like

The Westmoor Club would be to call it a "Field

Club." With thirteen tennis courts, two paddle

tennis courts, two squash courts, three pools, a

spa & fitness center, and a putting green, The

Westmoor Club is for active people.

Our youngest members enjoy the wide range of

children's activities the Club's campus has to offer.

In addition to tennis clinics, swim lessons and

Swim Team, children ages three to ten participate

in our "Westies" and Jr. Sports Camps. But "Field

Club" does not take into account the side of The

Westmoor Club that honors Nantucket's nautical

tradition.

who share your love of an active lifestyle and the charms

Nantucket spreads before her visitors. Like so many families,

we hope that you will find The Westmoor Club

your home away from home.
