The Wealth Cycle
By Henry ChuTemple Master
Introduction
• Wealth Cycle is the cycle of change for an individual’s personal wealth (miniature version of the I-Ching)
• There are great insights to be learned from this perspective of life (i.e. spiritual evolution)
• It is also important to note that it may take several lives to complete one cycle, thus a person will reincarnate into the a life that picks up from where he or she left off
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Extreme Poverty—– This is the state of lack– The individual do not even have the basic
necessities of life– This is the bottom of the cycle– The individual is desperate and will do anything to
acquire wealth (i.e. crime, prostitution, etc.)– This is the most difficult state to get out of (it may
take many lives because of the negative karma)
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Regretful Exhortation—– This is the state of encouragement– This is a great breakthrough from the state of lack– The individual realizes the terrible falsehood of
the state of lack (the negative cycle)– He or she has learned the lessons and begins to
repent and stop the transgressions– This is the spiritual transformation that will lead a
person away from poverty
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Diligence and Hardworking—– This is the state of gain– The individual is constantly focused on gaining and
does everything to keep gaining– This is also the state where debts are paid– Never the less, the focus is so intense that
everything else in life is place on hold
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Saving and Frugality—– This is the state of great gain– The individual begins to paid off all of the debts
and begins to save– The person also learned to minimize spending so
there is very little expenses or waste– At the same time, the person is still persistent in
diligence so the income continues to flow in
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Great Prosperity—– This is the state of success– The person has amassed great wealth and has
enough to live on for the rest of his or her life– This is also the state of fulfillment, which means
he or she is satisfied (and no longer works as hard)– This is also the top of the cycle, which means it’s
all down hill from here
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Extravagant Waste—– This is the state of leakage– Because there are so much excess, the person no
longer values wealth and begins to squander– The person always buy the best brand and spent
money on frivolous things– The pursue is on luxury and gratifications of
pleasures
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Lustful Indulgence—– This is the state of transgressions– The person’s appetite for pleasure expands
beyond socially acceptable bounds– The individual begins to venture into extreme
forms of pleasure seeking and begins to participate in risky behaviors (alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, etc.)
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Overwhelming Calamities—– This is the state of disaster– The risky behaviors progress to criminal behaviors
as the person loses considerations for others (only focus on the gratification of his or her pleasures)
– As the criminal behaviors begins to amass the individual may be able to paid some of it off
– Finally, everything simply got out of hand and everything blows up
Elements of Wealth Cycle
• Poverty (thus begins a new cycle)– This is the beginning of a new cycle– The person has lost everything and is in a state of
terrible lack (may even lose his or her freedom)– This is the bottom of the cycle, which means the
person is only begin to hit bottom – Once the bottom is reached then the new cycle
really begins
Lessons to be Learned
• Constant changing nature of life and that the Changes comes in sequential
• It is very difficult to resist change• Physical manifestations always have spiritual
components• Understanding the cycle means understanding
where we are in life
Conclusion
• Wealthy cycle is a miniature version of I-Ching (I-Ching has 64 states and the Wealth Cycle only has 8 states)
• The insights of the Wealth Cycle can help us understand where we are in life
• The duration of each state of the cycle may vary between people
• Deviation is also possible (but rare)
