Gay Glen Bartram, 87, of Wooster, Ohio, formerly of West Virginia, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, follow- ing a brief illness at Wooster Community Hospital. He was born February 13, 1930, in Fort Gay, West Virginia, to the late Okie and Meda Thompson Bartram, and lived most of his life in Rittman, Ohio, West Virginia and Wooster, Ohio. Glen proudly served his coun- try in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Willadeen Huff, and they have been hap- pily married for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and gar- dening. He was a member of the Blue Masonic Lodge of Wayne, West Virginia and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonary. Surviving is his wife Willadeen; sons David (Judy) Bartram and Donald Bartram, both of Wooster, Ohio; daughters Debra (Bob) Nester of Wooster, Ohio, and Diana (Wayde) Hatten of West Salem, Ohio; grandchildren Jami Pittman of Wooster, Ohio, and Jason (Lisa) Nester of Stow, Ohio; great-grandchildren Kiwi, Kaden, Samuel and Sarah; brother Roy (Margaret) Bartram of West Virginia; sister Dorothy (Bill) Stewart of West Virginia; brother-in-law Ben (Penny) Huff of Rittman, Ohio; and sisters-in- law Evia Garlock of Denver, Colorado and Mamie (Gene) Moine of Wadsworth, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Harold and James Bartram; and sisters Claris Johnson and Betty. She was born September 18, 1931, in Marlinton, W.Va., daughter of the late Cecil and Blanche Waugh Carr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her hus- band Claude P. Chapman and eight siblings. She attended Rome Presbyterian Church. She was a 1952 graduate of Marshall University and later received a master’s degree from Marshall University. She was employed by Cabell County Schools for 38 years as a teacher at Huntington East High School and librarian at Enslow Junior High School. She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Lynn Chapman of Proctorville, Ohio, and one son, Steven Parker Chapman of East Lynn, W.Va. Lorene Virginia Marshall of Wayne Lorene Virginia Marshall, 93, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 8, 2017, just two weeks before her 94th birth- day. She was born September 22, 1923, in Wayne County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Wayne and Bessie Frazier Dean. Her husband, Pearly Marshall, also preceded her in death along with all eight broth- ers and sisters, Mary Crabtree, Nina Etter, Sadie Dean, Arnold Dean, Drewie Dean, Willie Dean, Edmond Dean and Inez Marshall. Lorene was a homemaker and a member of Garrett’s Creek Church of Christ.She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews; her church family whom she cherished; and her many dear friends at Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Evangelists Barry Owens and Wyn Baker officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Terry May and her grandchild, Natasha Estep. She was born May 18, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to the late Arlland and Mary McGinnis Page. She was a long-time employee of the Wayne Restaurant and served on the Wayne Town Council. She also enjoyed bowling and coaching softball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Stephens; five sisters, Alma Eades, Betty Johnson, Lou Emma Hancock, Opal Porter and Odie Howard; two brothers, Otis Page and Junior Page. She is survived by one daughter, Traci Stephens of Lavalette; one son, Jeffrey Stephens of Wayne; four grandchildren, Joshua Jacob Laney, James Edward Laney III, Samantha Stephens, Geoffrey Stephens; one great-grand- child, Aiden James Adkins. Lidia Moretti of Huntington Mrs. Lidia Moretti, beloved spouse of the late Italian/American Glass Maestro, Alessandro Moretti, both formerly of Huntington, WV passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Lifecare Center of Citrus County Nursing Home in Lecanto, Florida after a long ill- ness at the age of 92. Lidia was born October 16, 1924 in Genoa, Ital. After the ravages of WWII Europe destroyed her Genovese homeland, Lidia emigrated to Johannesburg, South Africa with her mother, Emilia, Step-father, Armando, and sister, Tamara. There in this new continent, she met and married, her husband, noted Italian/ American Glass maestro, Alessandro Moretti, who likewise had left his birthplace in Murano, Italy to find a new life. They married in 1955 and then in June of 1956, they emigrated from South Africa to their beloved Huntington,WV, where they resided for 42 years , and where two of their children, Yvonne and Albert, were born. Alessandro was employed by the Pilgrim Glass Company, located in Kenova, WV, along with his brother the late Roberto Moretti, and brother-in-law, the late Mario Sandon. Lidia was a loving wife and mother and maintained a sense of resolve in spite of her very long illness. She especially loved her children, her people, and friends in West Virginia, her family abroad; and was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. Lidia is survived by her children, Albert and Yvonne Moretti, her niece and nephew in South Africa, Lidia Fernandez and Romano Volker, and their extended family; Venetian relatives, Frank, Daria, Viola, Francesca Moretti and son; her beloved sister-in-law, Giulia Moretti [spouse to her late brother-in-law, Roberto Moretti]; cherished nieces, Sandra, Laura, Giulia Spurlock, Gabriella and Francesca Guidobono, Frank and te late Lisa Guidobono of Hilton Head, SC; her late sister and brother-in-law, Onelia and Mario Sandon; nieces Liviana and Gloria and family. He was born in Lawrence County, Kentucky on May 8, 1962, to Johnny Ray and Flossie Raines of Inez, Kentucky. Johnny is survived by his wife, Alice Patton Slone, one daughter, Crystal Green of Pikeville, Kentucky, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by one step daughter, Glenna Maynard Adams, two step grandchildren, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Per family’s wishes, there will be no services. Wooster, Ohio, formerly of West Virginia, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, follow-ing a brief illness at Wooster Community Hospital. He was born February 13, 1930, in Fort Gay, West Virginia, to the late Okie and Meda Thompson Bartram, and lived most of his life in Rittman, Ohio, West Virginia and Wooster, Ohio. Glen proudly served his coun-try in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Willadeen Huff, and they have been hap-pily married for many years. She was born May 18, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to the late Arlland and Mary McGinnis Page. She was a long-time employee of the Wayne Restaurant and served on the Wayne Town Council. She also enjoyed bowling and coaching softball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Stephens; five sisters, Alma Eades, Betty Johnson, Lou Emma Hancock, Opal Porter and Odie Howard; two brothers, Otis Page and Junior Page. She is survived by one daughter, Traci Stephens of Lavalette; one son, Jeffrey Stephens of Wayne; four grandchildren, Joshua Jacob Laney, James Edward Laney III, Samantha Stephens, Geoffrey Stephens; one great-grand-child, Aiden James Adkins.

Lidia Morettiof Huntington

Mrs. Lidia Moretti, beloved spouse of the late Italian/American Glass Maestro, Alessandro Moretti, both formerly of Huntington, WV passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Lifecare Center of Citrus County Nursing Home in Lecanto, Florida after a long ill-ness at the age of 92. Lidia was born October 16, 1924 in Genoa, Ital. After the ravages of WWII Europe destroyed her Genovese homeland, Lidia emigrated to Johannesburg, South Africa with her mother, Emilia, Step-father, Armando, and sister, Tamara. There in this new continent, she met and married, her husband, noted Italian/American Glass maestro, Alessandro Moretti, who likewise had left his birthplace in Murano, Italy to find a new life. They married in 1955 and then in June of 1956, they emigrated from South Africa to their beloved Huntington,WV, where they resided for 42 years , and where two of their children, Yvonne and Albert, were born. Alessandro was employed by the Pilgrim Glass Company, located in Kenova, WV, along with his brother the late Roberto Moretti, and brother-in-law, the late Mario Sandon. Lidia was a loving wife and mother and maintained a sense of resolve in spite of her very long illness. She especially loved her children, her people, and friends in West Virginia, her family abroad; and was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. Lidia is survived by her children, Albert and Yvonne Moretti, her niece and nephew in South Africa, Lidia Fernandez and Romano Volker, and their extended family; Venetian relatives, Frank, Daria, Viola, Francesca Moretti and son; her beloved sister-in-law, Giulia Moretti [spouse to her late brother-in-law, Roberto Moretti]; cherished nieces, Sandra, Laura, Giulia Spurlock, Gabriella and Francesca Guidobono, Frank and te late Lisa Guidobono of Hilton Head, SC; her late sister and brother-in-law, Onelia and Mario Sandon; nieces Liviana and Gloria and family. Deceased family members include her parents, Vicenzo and Emilia Villa; and her late sister, Tamara Villa Volker. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, which are incomplete.

Johnny Ray Slone of Kermit

Johnny Ray Slone 55, of Kermit, West Virginia passed away at his home on Friday, September 8, 2017. He was born in Lawrence County, Kentucky on May 8, 1962, to Johnny Ray and Flossie Raines of Inez, Kentucky. Johnny is survived by his wife, Alice Patton Slone, one daughter, Crystal Green of Pikeville, Kentucky, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by one step daughter, Glenna Maynard Adams, two step grandchildren, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Per family’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the directions of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.

William Christopher Hutchison, 48, of Kenova, WV, died Saturday September 9, 2017 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Graveside funeral ser-vice will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday September 13, 2017 at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow. Chris was born July 21, 1969 in Huntington, WV a son of William Hutchison and friend Penny Curry of Huntington and Barbara Owens Hamsher and husband Andrew of Monroe, NC. Chris worked at Geer Brothers Body Shop. He attended Fourth Ave United Methodist Church in his youth and First Baptist Church of Kenova. Additional survivors include three daughters, Mallory, Hailey and Clara Hutchison and two sons, Trevor Christopher and William Thomas Hutchison all of Huntington, two sisters, Heather Lee McMurtry and husband Patrick of Nashville, TN and Tiffany Dawn Haid and husband Michael of Midlothian, TX, paternal grandmother, Jackie Hutchison of Huntington, grandmother, Joyce Owens of Barboursville, aunt and uncle, Jim and Linda Hutchison of Barboursville, the loving mother of his five children, Jennifer Hutchison of Huntington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. President Obama’s executive amnesties rendered the left’s warnings about Trump during the campaign a little tinny. What was the worst a President Trump could do? Push for legislation, and when it failed, impose it on his own? Obama had already done it, and neither the former president nor his supporters have second thoughts, yet warn hourly of Trump’s threats to our constitu-tional system.

President Trump has exer-cised his powers foolishly at times, but he’s never exceeded them. What Obama calls, pejo-ratively, the White House shift-ing “its responsibility for these young people to Congress” is really just basic civics. Congress writes the laws, even when it’s not to Barack Obama’s liking.
