Spiritual discipline of life stewardship hits all of us – the clock and the dollar greatly influence our lives – so we must

consider their role in godly living. God calls us to be disciplined in the use of both our time and our money. We may find that

biblically disciplined stewardship of time and money are at the heart of a disciplined spiritual life that lead to Christlikeness

(Donald Whitney – Spiritual Disciplines). Because we invest most of our days working in exchange for money, in a very real sense, our money represents us. Therefore, how we us it reveals a lot of

who we are, for it manifests our priorities, our values, and our hearts. Growth in godliness will express itself in a growing

understanding of these 10 New Testament principles of giving… God owns everything you own – 1 Corinthians 10:26

Giving is an act of worship – Philippians 4:18 Giving reflects faith in God’s provision – Mark 12:41-44

Giving should be sacrificial and generous – 2 Corinthians 8:1-5 Giving reflects spiritual trustworthiness – Luke 16:10-13

Giving – love, not legalism – God wants you to give as the overflow of your love for Him – 2 Corinthians 9:7

Give willingly, thankfully, and cheerfully – 2 Corinthians 9:7 Giving is an appropriate response to real needs – Acts 2:43-45;

4:32-35; 11:27-30 Giving should be planned and systematic –

1 Corinthians 16:1-2 Generous giving results in bountiful blessing – 2 Corinthians

9:6-8 – God does not promise riches in return, He promises bountiful blessing (sometimes of unspecified nature, sometimes

we may not receive those blessings until we enter heaven)
