CHRISTMAS CONCERT
SJV ‘Peace on Earth’ Christmas Concert
5.45pm for 6pm start Thursday November 24th
Venue: SJV School Oval (weather permitting)
Duration: approximately 70 minutes
On Thursday 24th November Michael Mangan will be leading the SJV community with his ‘Peace on Earth’ Christmas Concert from 6pm.
Michael Mangan is a composer, teacher and music liturgist who is based in Brisbane. A former specialist music teacher, he has composed over 250 pieces which are widely used in Liturgy and Religious Education programmes in schools and parishes throughout Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA. Michael's music is published in North America by World Library Publications, Chicago. His compositions are known for
their "singability" and suitability for liturgical celebrations, especially with children.
During the concert children will sit in class groupings (to be easily marshaled for their items) as a result they will need to present to their class teacher at 5.45pm. Students will perform in year level order & all students are involved in the finale.
Families are invited to bring a blanket & picnic to enjoy, however, as this is a family event alcohol is not permitted. Since students will be sitting in class groups they will need to have eaten before 5.45pm. Parents/caregivers are asked to ensure that children (other than SJV students) are supervised/seated with them and not playing on equipment/courts/elsewhere around the school during the concert.
Costume requirements are as follows:
Prep: Christmas outfits (red, green, white)
Year One: Christmas colours + red nose or antlers
Year Two: Christmas colours
Year Three: Christmas t-shirt
Year Four: Aussie bush outfits (e.g. jeans, check shirt, straw hat, boots) - optional Christmas t-shirt
Year Five: Red or green
Year Six: Red clothes
Michael’s CDs will be on sale for a short time following the concert. Should you wish to purchase a CD cash is required and small notes are appreciated.
We look forward to celebrating with you!

AFTER 3PM AT SCHOOL
Parents are asked to please exit the school grounds with their
children promptly after 3pm. As teachers are still working in their
classrooms after 3pm and often schedule meetings with parents
and colleagues at that time, noise can be a distraction. Your
consideration and understanding is appreciated.
