Past meetings –

June 2017 ASNT Meeting Minutes Marie Loeb called the meeting to order at 1:49 p.m. and invited the new guests to introduce themselves. There was one new guest, Michael, who said he was new to astrology and that he worked in IT. Marie reminded everyone that this meeting was a dues paying meeting $10 for members, $20 for non-members. She then summarized that past 2 years’ worth of work that the board had accomplished, since last month had been when new board positions had been voted upon and her role as President was now complete. Reading the treasury report for April of 2017, Marie explained that while her old role as President was ending, her new role as the ASNT treasurer was just beginning. Marie discussed how the board, since changing the by-laws in May of 2016, and ASNT voting to accept them in late summer last year, has repositioned ASNT to begin to grow. Due to lack of profits from workshops over the past several years and a stagnant membership number, and membership fee, ASNT was slowly losing money. ASNT is now beginning to show signs of slow growth. ASNT still needs two positions on the board filled - Program Director and Publicity. Contact Wayne Hall or anyone on the board if interested in filling either role. All meeting fees are covered if you take a position on the board. Linda Gregory is our newest board member as the Hospitality Chair taking over for Sylvia who always brought us great homemade goodies. We sure are going to miss Sylvia’s recipes. Chris Light will continue her role as Newsletter, Christy Hall is now the secretary and Rhyan Butler will continue as Membership chair. Wayne Hall thanked Marie for her hard work over the past 2.5 yrs. and then took over his new role as President of ASNT for the June meeting and talked about continuing our search for another location as well as potentially moving into the larger room of the current church. New Membership fees will be due in September and Rhyan will be sending out notices via email. The talk for July will be Princess Diana’s natal chart covering the timing techniques of secondary progressions, solar arcs, and profections. Come and learn about these different ways of viewing her natal chart through time! Christy outlined the rest of the year and Wayne asked if anyone had any teaching offers. There was none. Wayne introduced Maria Mateus, the visiting speaker from Austin, who gave her talk on an Introduction to Astrological Grammar and the meeting ended at 3:53 p.m. Wayne invited everyone to join the group at Little Italy, our usual meeting site after the afternoon meetings and we all adjourned.

President’s Message Happy 4th of July! For Independence Day, we in the United States celebrate the official birth of a new nation as we broke free of the British Empire almost 250 years ago. This holiday brings on bold patriotic themes, thoughts of the “motherland” and strong protective instincts among us. Our families come together, and people remember the past and focus on memories, sometimes very emotional in nature or tough to process. Maybe it’s happening like that on its own, or maybe it’s getting some help from the Sun – it *is* passing through the sign of Cancer right now, after all. All those things sound very Cancerian, don’t you think? Our ASNT group is also celebrating a new birth of sorts – the birth of a new Board. I’d like to thank our previous Board members – Marie Loeb, who has served as our President and has been elected as our new Treasurer; Christy Hall, who has served as Programs Director and has been elected as our new Secretary; and Sylvia Dunton, who has served as our Hospitality Chair. We gained a new Hospitality Chair, Linda Gregory, and we continue to have Chris Light as Newsletter and Ryhan Butler as Membership Chair. I might even go so far as to call this a “stellar” cast, but I know you would see right through that obvious astrological word play. So I’ll steer clear from the groan-worthy puns and just say the new board has aspects sure to please, and there will be elements everyone will enjoy, at least to a degree. A sign of a productive board is to be squarely aligned with its members, and not eclipse its charter, so we cast our focus on your needs. Hopefully there’s no opposition to this goal, and we’re given the latitude to succeed. We just have to “plan it” and get it done. We could use your help to get our house in order––Programs Chair and Publicity are the two remaining positions that still remain void and we’d rather they become full. We look forward to serving you in this coming year. Astrologically Yours, Wayne Hall

“The moon is a developing power and the final aspect indicates outcome of any venture under consideration. In selecting the day and hour for taking an action we base our decision to act or not on what she advises according to her final aspect “when all is said and done” If she is void of course the matter is also inactive with no harm done.” –
