the vastu purusha mandala
At the foundation of a village or building a house,
a temple, the priest-architects drew this diagram checkered
on the ground after purified it.
The vastu purusha mandala is the symbolic representation of the cosmos.
The center of the square is occupied by the one God (Vishnu, Shiva or Brahma).
it is the holy of holies, the sacred sanctuary, a place of divinity.
Its use will be diverted to form a table of war game
8 x 8 squares, ancestor of the Exchequer ...
