Presentation by John Portelli, CEO of Valletta Cruise Port at Seatrade Med 2012 in Marseilles, as part of the Waterfront Development session. Private company, Valletta Cruise Port regenerated a historical port and converted it into a cruise terminal as well as a destination for locals, passengers and tourists. Our task
• Vacating Properties (48,000 sqm).
• Shifting of road to the back of the
vaults
• New office for Transport Malta
• Excavation of Water Plaza
• Restoration of 1754 buildings and
conversion into offices, restaurants
and shops.
• Development of 900 m of quays.

The road shifted to the back of the restored stores, creating a pedestrian area overlooking the water plaza which follows the original quay line
