The USA is a Capitalist country which means that people can start up their own businesses and keep all of the profit that they make.
People such as Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey have done well
under the Capitalist System and greatly improved their living
standards. They have achieved The American Dream.
Not all people benefit under the Capitalist System and there is much inequality in the
USA.
Your ethnicity and your wealth may affect your likelihood of achieving the American Dream.
Inequality can be seen in housing, health, education, employment and within the Criminal Justice System.
