welcomes in the New Year 2018. We are
looking forward to a bright and energetic
year. The New Year Baby is helping us kick
off the year right. What’s your new years
resolution? Here are some common top 10: 1.) Lose weight,
2.) Quit smoking, 3.) Quit drinking, 4.) Save money,
5.) Eat healthier, 6.) Spend more time with family, 7.)
Travel, 8.) Have better sleep, 9.) Spend less time on social
media, 10.) Enjoy life to the fullest. Certain things catch
your eye,but pursue only those that capture the heart.
The North East Multi-Regional Training, Inc. (NEMRT) has invited to Chief of
Police Derek Ferguson to becoming a member of their Personnel Committee.
NEMRT provides training programs to law enforcement personnel throughout the
Chicagoland area. The Personnel Committee is directly responsible to the Advisory Board of Directors for the review of all significant personnel actions and providing advice to the Director on issues of filling vacancies, terminations, discipline, and professional development of personnel.
January 11th is National Human Trafficking Awareness. The University
Police would like to invite you to an informative presentation on Human
Trafficking. The presentation is open to the Benedictine community and
public, 18 years an older.

Wistocki from Naperville Police Department
High Technology Crimes Unit and Be Sure
Consulting. Det. Wistocki authored the State of
Illinois Sexting Law and the State of Illinois
Sexual Exploitation of a Child law. He has par-
ticipated in the United States Secret Service
Chicago Electronic Task Force and works to
train law enforcement, schools, parents, and
children on internet crimes. He also recently
presented at a TEDx conference in Naperville.
For this event, Det. Wistocki will be speaking
about cyber crimes and the use of technology
in sexual assault, domestic violence, dating
violence, and stalking. Det. Wistocki will share
knowledge about these crimes, how to protect
yourself and others, and how to report.
